I see Dwight and Eugene becoming the Fifth Column inside Negan's camp, which Rick & Co will need - not today, not tomorrow - whenever the attack on the compound comes. (The season finale probably.) I reckon Eugene will turn out to be the hero and lose his cowardly streak, maybe because of what happened to Abraham? But he's no fool anyway.

We'll see who's' right soon enough. The way he talked to Negan... I think he really has found his true self. Being with Rick & Co was a bad influence for him

They pulled a Glenn again! Problem is, "fool me once...".

Nope. Unlike Michonne I didn't fall for that one!
Had it been the other way around it might have made me think for a few seconds though.

Yeah, but without Season 6 Episode 3, it would've had a much better chance at fooling the audience.

I'm sure he didn't sound the alarm, not to give them a chance to flee, so much as to avoid immediate danger.

The one thing that surprised me: Carol being so comfortable killing again, what where the past several seasons about?

That was a poor season of The Walking Dead. It was so dragged out Season 7 only came to life for the mid-season and season finales. Apart from that, very little happened. It's badly paced and the characters are all over the place. The Walking Dead has gone boring, I'm not sure if I'll be back in October for Season 8.

Most episodes featuring the main cast were cringe-worthy bad, too. The episodes seeing the other communities were fairly interesting, but like you said, nothing happens. It's very decompressed, stretched out filler. They seem setup to have a much more interesting season 8, though. I'm not ready to give up on the show yet, but I will call it like I see it, and this was the worst season since probably 3/4.

Or, to pull a classic Homer: "It was like that when I got here"

I didn't think season 7 was as strong as season 6 which I thought was arguably one of their best efforts since season 1. AMC released a trailer for the upcoming season 8 at SDCC. For those not caught up on the current season there are spoilers. It looks like they might wrap up the "All Out War" story arc by mid-season as we get a glimpse of how Rick looks after that event in this trailer.

I agree with the idea of season 7 being an inferior product. Far too predictable in the villain in control / heroes find their spines set up. I understand that Negan is the big bad comic threat, but I'm already tired of the sadism, and "guess who is going to die this season" game this series inspired.
