DC's Death Fingers, first delivered by Neal Adams on the cover of Batman #231 (May, 1971), later "borrowed" by Bernie Wrightson for the cover of House of Mystery #214 (June, 1973)-- Anyone dare say Wrightson saw the Adams cover and said, "Hey...that's a great idea! I'll just change this and that, and..."

Towering metal: Planet Comics #48 (May,1947) and Daredevil #8 (June, 1965). Looks like Wally Wood's Daredevil cover was somewhat influenced by the old sci-fi title, right down to the direction the antagonist is moving and arm positions.

Interesting that as late as '67, Weisinger was still assuming enough reader churn to justify a short window for repeating himself.
