The first actor to play Jimmy Olsen in a movie was Tommy Bond, who was in the serials Superman (1948) and Atom Man vs. Superman (1950). (In the still above, that's him on the right.) Tommy Bond is most famous as Butch in the Our Gang comedies.

Jonathan Kent, Father of Clark Kent and SupermanHe gave good advice to Clark over the years and learned that having great powers can have it's risks and he must learn the consequences of them. Jonathan Kent is a very patience man, learned his son's frustrations, and most importantly he became his friend, mentor, father, and adviser to all things and reminded him from time to time - be careful in what you do with those great powers. Martha Kent, Mother of Clark Kent and Superman I just loved this 2 minute clip hereGreat Nurturer, Loving, Kind, and very helpful with all his emotional needs and most importantly a loving friend that does anything for her Super Son! Like making his famous costume that he wore all through his adventures of Superboy and Superman! Great Cook and like her husband she reminded him of his great powers and that's very important for her son to know. Has a Heart of Gold.

Bibbo Bibbowski - Supporting Character for SupermanFirst appearance: Adventures of Superman #428 (May 1987) On a Personal Note: I have a copy of this book and it's a rare Bronze Age Purchase because many of my friends recommended me this book because of this character Bibbo. I enjoyed this character and having said that he became an instant hit back in the 80's. I read several of his adventures because my friends brought me Superman Comic Books while I was working and literally mailing them to my home so that I don't miss it at all. So, I ended up having a stack of them and never looked back. From WikipediaBibbo first appears in a Suicide Slum bar called the Ace o' Clubs. When Superman comes in looking for information, Bibbo, thinking this is "some clown in a Superman suit", punches Superman, damaging his hand. He gains respect for the Man of Steel because "yer tough". He would later refer to Superman as his "fav'rit" hero. Two Pictures of BoI find him personal, unique, fun-loving, supported, and most of all a human being that taken great lengths to be Superman's Pal. So, having said that ... a rare Bronze Age Character that made this list as one of the Best Supporting Characters. In Superman ReturnsBibbo Bibbowski apparently appears in an early scene in Superman Returns played by Jack Larson (who had portrayed Jimmy Olsen in the 1950s Adventures of Superman). Post-Crisis is still bronze age? Also, Bibbo appeared in the Superman Adventures cartoon. He may have also been in an episode of Lois&Clark...and, though he doesn't appear, the Ace O' Clubs appears on Smallville (though it's a fancy restaurant/club, not a dingy pub). I always confused Bibbo with the Captain Strong. I'm thinking he was the inspiration for him , at the very least.

Jean Loring - Supporting Character of The Atom / The Tiny TitanFirst Appearance: Showcase # 34 Note to All: I was debating with this pick either Jean Loring (Wife of Ray Palmer) and/or Sue Dibny (Wife of Ralph Dibny) and guess what Atom wins over Elongated Man! Jean Loring is a very capable woman with a career back in those days being a layer and a wife of Ray Palmer. Having said that, I consider her more well rounded woman than Sue Dibny of which she ended up murdering her later on and becoming the villain Eclipso at one point of time that upset me a lot. I prefer her in the 60's of which she was a responsible lady that juggling her own career as a lawyer of which very few women back then was being noted for and her own personal life being a girlfriend of the Atom and later on marrying him and learning his secret identity of the Tiny Titan. I find her very resourceful, capable, determined, and most importantly she is quite fashionable and dresses for the part of a lawyer back then. That's her calling card and that's why I chose her over Sue Dibny at any day of the week. She reminded me of Jackie Kennedy of the way she dresses in the good ole days of Comics (Sixties) ... here an good example of that below. Jean Loring and Jackie Kennedy - Fabulous! Two Great Pictures of Jean Loring Ray Proposing to Jean Loring here - She still looks like Jackie Kennedy here ... Uncanny! Sad to say this ... the marriage failed later on! She appeared live-action in Arrow.

Jimmy Olsen the PhotojournalistOne of my favorite picture of him that I found in the Internet a couple days ago. I added this photo in the last minute! ... Jimmy Olsen in Television LandJack Larsen as Jimmy Olsen in the Adventures of Superman, Starring George Reeves! He was the Best of the Best Micheal Landes as Jimmy Olsen in Lois and Clark, The New Adventures of Superman! Justin Whalin, Jimmy Olsen in the Lois and Clark, The New Adventures of Superman! Justin Whalin as Jimmy Olsen was marginally better than Micheal Landes in this series and I have personal issues with these two characters when they appeared on show and I was hoping they find someone better. But, they didn't and I was stuck with these two actors for the time being. Mark McClure pictured here with Christopher Reeve was good as Jimmy Olsen and I wished they add more lines to his credits and I loved the way he portrayed it. He was good and the Movies best Jimmy Olsen and I did not care for Jimmy Olsen in Superman Returns at all.
It's a challenge for me to post all these pictures! No love for Smallvilles Jimmy Olsen and his older brother not-Jimmy? Or Superman Returns Jimmy? Or animated Jimmys?

dupersuper, quote from you:
"No love for Smallvilles Jimmy Olsen and his older brother not-Jimmy? Or Superman Returns Jimmy? Or animated Jimmys?"
The reason that Smallville Jimmy Olsen did not make the list is fact that this character had little and no impact to me - neither the one in Superman Returns because that movie was a bomb after watching it 2-3 times and vowed never see it again because most of the world felt that this movie (Superman Returns) had so many inconsistencies that I just had a hard time accepting it. As far the animated versions of Jimmy Olsen I did not even think of that and having said that - I wished I had more time with it. I don't have any favorites in the animated versions and having said that it would be a very difficult for me to make a note of it.

dupersuper - I don't watch Arrow anymore because the show isn't my cup of tea anymore and sorry to say that. Right now, there are way too many Superhero TV Shows on these days and I just can't wrap my head around them and to me it's getting way out of hand here and that's why I stopped watching Arrow altogether. Sorry dupersuper!
Thanks for letting me know that she made an appearance on that show.

Jor El - Supporting Character for Superman / Clark KentFirst Appearance: More Fun Comics 101 I was shocked to learn this the other day to see Jor El in another comics other than Superman and Action Comics back in those days. Here's a couple of pages of More Fun Comics 101 that featured Jor El in a Superboy Origin Story. I just loved the art back then and that's why I love the Golden Age of Comics so much!

Jor El - Two Dramatic Pictures that like in the InternetOne of the better pictures that I like and I prefer this one the best one of them all. A man with many talents, an inventor, a scientist, one of the most knowledgeable Kryptonian of all times and his name should be made revered by many fans of DC Comics. His name is mentioned in the same breath as Henry Ford. This is a really cool picture Life Story of Jor El
This link is an excellent link outlining the history of Jor El and I just wanted to share this with you - lots to read about and I like the way they put it altogether here.
