Nick Fury - Supporting Character for the Marvel Universe/AvengersFirst Appearance: Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos #1 Multi-Talented, Ex CIA Agent, A Master Spy, and one of the most versatile Marvel Character ever lived. It's been noted that he takes a special medication that allows him slow down his aging and I just find it hard to believe it's from the Infinity Formula and I need to research this a bit more. I really like this guy when Samuel L. Jackson, not David Hasselhoff appeared on Screen. David Hasselhoff as Nick Fury: Agent of Shield (TV Movie) - 1998
I never really care for his role in this movie at all. Really Pathetic, I may add here. Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury / Avengers He was excellent, authoritative, resourceful, savvy, and was an asset to everyone that he meets. I wished that they expanded his role in all future films and I'm quite fond of him as Nick Fury. I just can't give him 5 stars because of limited minutes on screen.

Three Great Pictures of Nick FuryLots of Lots of Detailed Work in the Guns, Straps, and Holsters here and there. And, a favorite of mine for years and years - since he appeared in Sgt. Fury and the Howling Commandos. A 2001 trade-paperback collection, with re-purposed cover art from Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. #4 (September 1968) by Jim Steranko. I have mixed feeling about Mr. Steranko's art because you have to study it in great detail to learn to appreciate it very much. I don't want to spend 10-15 minutes on a comic book page to appreciate his art. For a splash page like this one below that he did for Nick Fury and Company - Definitely Top Notch and Fabulously Done. Loved this work a great deal and he should be proud of it.

Peggy Carter - Supporting Character for Captain AmericaFirst Appearance: Tales of Suspense #77 She was on and off girlfriend of Captain America during World War II and became quite fond of him during all flashback sequences during this time frame. I did read a few of these stories in the late sixties and I was amazed of how well they trusted each other and grown fond of each other graces back then. She embraces the spirit of Captain America and she was very proud of him ... and that's why she is on my list of the 50 Best Supporting Characters. The third panel in the middle says it all ... of her faith in Captain America and the symbol that he represents. A real sweetheart to Captain America and a trooper that she is!

Hayley Atwell ... Peggy Carter / Agent Carter - Part 1 of 3She was sensational in Captain America Film that came out in 2011 and I'm primarily focusing on that film alone. She was gritty, tough, determined, loyal, perfect for the part, gorgeous, and most of all did a great job as Peggy Carter. I'm a big fan of this movie and having said that I was stunned by the visual imagery of this film and Marvel Films did a great job with it. Hayley Atwell was an unknown to me at the time of this film came out and she did a terrific job as Peggy. She deserved the 5 stars that I gave to her. Loved her costumes - they did a great job designing it for her! Sharp Uniform - Looks Fabulous on her! Loved this Leather Jacket - Gorgeous Shade of Brown! I'll never, ever forget about this sensational red dress that she wore in that movie.

The second season of Agent Carter just started last week. I like the show a lot, even though I could list ten stupid things from just about every episode. The latest episode featured a scene where Peggy and Jarvis interrupt Howard Stark while he's directing a movie based on the historical figure known as Kid Colt, Outlaw.

Mera: Always liked Mera. She is pretty had her powers are interesting. I recently read the Aquaman tpb that reprints stories from the 70s including the death of their son. Mera is fascinating...being one of the few married heroines, serving as a queen and partner with Aquaman, losing a child, and the ups and downs of marriage. Her look is very memorable with that gorgeous red hair. Great character! I've always loved Mera too--great visuals. Bry914 posted this gorgeous Aparo cover in a recent cover contest--that hair!

Pepper Potts - Supporting Character of Iron Man and Tony StarkAnother redhead, I sure have an affinity of redheads here in this thread and adore them greatly ... Ha Ha Ha! First Appearance: Tales of Suspense 45 One of most ablest, dedicated, and serious minded assistant to Tony Stark / Iron Man. She is one of most active supporting character in Iron Man history and along with James Rhodes - War Machine - these three are ever associated with Tony Stark / Iron Man. My favorite adventure with Tony Stark / Iron Man / Pepper Potts is Tales of Suspense 83 of which Iron Man took on one of his deadliest foes Titanium Man in one of the most explosive stories that I ever read in the early days of Iron Man of which I borrowed my brother's comic book in the early 70's. I just loved the action and I wanted to share a couple of pictures from that Comic Book of which I consider one of my favorites. One on the bottom is a great splash page. The colors were fantastic in this issue.

Yes, that flowing red hair against the green costume. A visually striking and exotic character. From what I can remember in the older stories, she was able to hold her own and wasn't constantly needing to be rescued by Aquaman. A great character! I remember reading Blackest Night or Brightest Day...one of those "earth-shattering" mini series. I didn't really care for it, but I did enjoy seeing Mera featured as one of the main characters in the book. I started reading the New 52 Aquaman but dropped it after the first year or so. But, I was glad to see Mera featured along with Aquaman. Pepper Potts: Another great redhead! I remember in her first appearances, she was kind of frumpy looking but quickly evolved to be very stylish and glamorous under Don Heck's pencils. Always liked her interactions with Tony and Happy. That Pepper Potts pin-up is a classic!

Yes, Pepper in full-blown Sophia Loren mode (and Happy's thoughts crack me up--ah, it was such an innocent time). Glad Stan decided to change the original conception of her as frumpy Ann B. Davis type who was there for comic relief; she became much more of a force in that IM series once she was glammed up (those diamond-sharp Heck cheekbones!). Happy wouldn't become more conventional-looking--i.e., handsome--until Colan took over. They're both favorite characters of mine.

I have a Tales of Suspense Masterworks with those early Iron Man stories. I really enjoy them and the interactions between Happy, Pepper, and Tony. Poor Happy, pining away for Pepper! Good call on the Ann B. Davis reference! I have the book about Don Heck and remember reading that he based her on Ann B. Davis at first, but then made her more glamorous. That was a great run of Iron Man way back then. Fun, stylish, glamorous, and great characters! I believe Don Heck is highly underrated. After reading that book, I realized many times his art was ruined by being paired up with an unflattering inker or he was handed a script on a Friday evening and was told, "Don, we need 24 pages penciled by Monday morning" and he had to rush. His Iron Man art is spectacular, especially when he could ink his own work.
