Eisnersphrizt Kirby Krackle You snob! now you even lost half comicbook fandom I use "Swerval" semi-regularly in conversation, too. (And I bet that nobody here gets THAT one!)

I sometimes use the phrase "where the Ditko did it go" when voicing my frustration at not being able to find something that I have misplaced. Definitely not a common phrase but definitely one that only a comic fan would get.

Serval does not sound particularly intimidating, I gotta say.

Serval does not sound particularly intimidating, I gotta say. Figured so, but isn't Hopeless Savages precisely about punks, post punks, "noisists"? I vaguely remember it in it, but I have several fanzines and records that have the word printed in it, which makes me think it comes from that scene's own slang, as I've never encountered it anywhere else. For french speaking people, Serval has a very dignified ring. It's a made up name, but sounds very cool, much cooler than Wolverine actually is, haha

Yeah, a wolverine is basically a smelly, large rat. BUT it's the name of a College football team in America, which (magically!) makes it cool.

I might be spelling it wrong, but Serious $%^&ing rain, basically. Rain with a mission.Man, I love the way Eisner drew torrential downpours.

Wolverines are weasels, not rodents. And "serval" is not a "made up" word. It's a species of African hunting cat. Cei-U! I summon the zoology lesson!
