'Nuff Said! (Yes, it was a common expression years ago, but since Stan Lee reached adulthood, it has almost exclusively been a Stan/Marvel term).

'Nuff Said! (Yes, it was a common expression years ago, but since Stan Lee reached adulthood, it has almost exclusively been a Stan/Marvel term). It's just a very common latin locution, still often in use in universities, advertizing , sports and politics.

Snikt I'm sure all of us know where it comes from and no one outside of comics does, but I must confess Bamf doesn't ring any specific bell.

Ha! Of course it was As I never was a heavy reader of X-Men, it just seemed close to any kind of sound effect you can find in comics, but maybe it is quite unique (it was unique enough that you'd think of it here, so I guess I'm just ignorant of it, hahaha).

^Could probably make an entire thread out of 'words and phrases that mean nothing when you're not an X-Men fan' alone.

Going along the sound effects route... BWHAHAHAHAHA probably just means a laugh to most people, rather than the Giffen/DeMatteis JLA
I remember a while back Marvel actually tried tried to trademark some if the sound effect words.

In fact, it's the official motto for New York State people outside of the New England area tho (the vast majority of the US), have no idea other than comics fans know Stan Lee says it in bullpen bulletins.

Headlights Bondage/decapitation panels Injury-to-eye Tentacled eyeball Seduction of the Innocent/Used in SOTI Parade of Pleasure Acid-in-face Lingerie panels Woman melted alive My favorite: Plastic Man forced to smoke marijuana I'm pretty sure that "headlights" is fairly common. Not PC, of course, but not unheard of.
