I'll keep going with batman beyond. It'll either be an improvement or it'll start sucking enough for me to stop. It's been teetering on the edge for me, but bringing terry back is a good step back. I'll give new justice league the first issue to grab me or not. pronably foolish but I'm sure I won't be able resist trying detective again because of the return to original numbering. But I'm not fool enough to give it more than an issue or two. Willing to try a new nightwing.

I will likely check out Rucka's Wonder Woman when the first trade is released.
I really Like Christopher Priest's stuff but really don't like Deathstroke much, so I will wait and see reviews on that one. If it gets good buzz I might try the first trade base don Priest's track record with me. If I read anything else form this, it will be via trades from the library but nothing else is interesting enough for me to spend money on. Too much other stuff (both new and old) I would rather invest money and time reading into than for me to open the wallet for this.

Those solicitations are making my head hurt. So things are going to be pretty much the same as they were pre-Rebirth, except that New 52 Superman is gone and Post-Crisis Superman is taking his place?

I will miss the Grayson series.

Lots of cool stuff, but... I'm too old/experienced for most of this. I will get Wonder Woman as Rucka and Sharp on the character seems like a match made in heaven and Sharp has already expressed more enthusiasm for this then for any of his projects of the past 20 years. I'll test the King Batman but have little hope. Oh, and Vertigo seems to be on hte verge of a new make over around september....

Detective is better than I hoped for my favorite bat-characters.
The more the new Superman direction takes from the triangle era, the better. I see this as a lazy way of restoring a decent supporting cast, which if true would make it much easier to write good stories even if the same people who are running the line into the ground are involved. I still don't have high hopes for it.
If Superwoman is who I hope she is I will be very happy. If not then DC will have missed another opportunity to right past wrongs.

I think the question of Batman being a perennial best seller in lieu of a new creative team is a moot point. It's Batman, it's going to sell regardless. Especially since the first half of that Rebirth announcement was focused solely on the Bat-stable of books. Synder going to a new Bat-book should ease the transition even more. It's a moot point? Batman with Snyder shed about a third of its readers over the last 2 years (it was averaging about 150K in sales and the last few haven't broken 100K and it was averaging the 150K before variants were a regular feature to prop sales. Meanwhile none of the other Batman titles without Snyder (Tec, Dark Knight, or Batman and Robin) from the new52 average half of what Batman was selling (none of them broke 75K on average, most were under 50K for most of their lifespan). So "it's Batman, it will sell regardless" doesn't pan out if you look at actual sales numbers of new52 Batman books. And if you loo at Batman sales pre-Morrison form before the new52, Batman sales were even bleaker. Snyder's Batman sold well, the rest were mid-tier or poor sellers. Yes, the Batline sells better than the rest of the DC line, but that's not because the Batline is selling gangbusters, it's because everything else is selling like crap. So if I were DC, I would be very concerned to see how a non-Snyder Batman will sell twice a month, especially since there is a Snyder alternative people can buy instead that will feature top-tier artists, well known villains and not require cross-over purchases with other titles to follow storylines. I can see All Star Batman becoming the top DC seller and Batman under King falling back to the pack, which is exactly what DC (and lots of shop owners who order big on Batman) doesn't want to happen. -M Sales figures are a good indicator but IMO they shouldn't be relied upon to present the fuller picture. Batman is the public face of DC, it's most popular character and has been for quite some time. His line of related titles has been relatively stable since the inception of Nu52 and has even expanded somewhat while other characters' line of books (most notably Green Lantern) has been culled. The last two weekly comic series, a format DC has pioneered to great success, have both been Bat-related. His events have had more widespread repercussions throughout the Nu52 and they usually garner more press coverage than other DC events (with the possible exception of Convergence). What I see and continue to see is DC pushing Batman to the forefront, through highly-publicized events and garnering the best talent possible to work on his and his related titles. As long as DC continues such a strong measure (and I don't see any change forthcoming. Just look at that Wondercon announcement) then IMHO, Batman will continue to sell regardless. As for the creator changes, by all accounts, Tom King is a well-respected and well-received writer whose already worked within the sphere of Batman tangentially through his work on Grayson and by all the reviews I've read so far of it, his work on Omega Men is something of an underappreciated masterpiece. (Though I keep meaning to check out his Sheriff of Babylon). With Synder as co-writer through at least this initial launch, I don't see any appreciable drop in creativity other than a possible switch in the focus on the stories which is only natural and expected whenever you have a new creative team brought onto a book. Synder, whose now under an exclusive contract with DC, isn't going far with his brand-new Batman title either. So am I worried over the future of Batman? Hardly. I'm more concerned over characters that I love more, namely Superman and Flash. The new Superman line of books hold promise but will the actual quality of these issues and stories live up to that promise? It remains to be seen.Same with Flash who features a creative team that frankly I've never heard of either of them. And yet despite Dido's claims of wanting to inject more traditional elements that he feels core fans have felt have been forgotten and Johns' talk of the importance of legacy, throughout these Rebirth announcements so far, STILL-NO-LEGION.

Your theory has more merit since DC is reprinting the first two volumes of the Peter David era.

Abnett on Aquaman might be enough to get me to pick it up, and Flash may get purchased as well once I check out the first issue. Other than that, no chance I pick up anything else from this relaunch.
