Nice surprise to see Sansa show up at Castle Black. First Stark reunion in a good while. The Lannister's plot to rescue Queen Margaery is a good one, hope it works. I wouldn't say it was a surprise, but with so many "close encounters" before, it could just as easily have gone the other way. I'm not so worried about the Tyrells, just kill those fanatics already!

^You know, I liked the little acknowledgement of Sansa that she had been a jerk to Jon when they were younger, even though we barely saw them interact on screen before Jon headed for the Wall. What I gathered from those first three episodes was that Jon was Arya and Bran's favourite big brother; they both dreamed of being knights one day, and it seemed Jon was probably more open to indulge them. Robb was always the serious eldest brother, groomed to follow in Ned's footsteps, Jon was always standing on the sideline, but still with this sense of being family; you can tell when Bran asks 'What about you?' when each Stark child adopts a dire wolf, or when Jon gives Needle to Arya.
Sansa always took after Catelyn more while Arya and Bran took after Ned more; it would make sense that Sansa, who also had very different sensibilities, would side with Cat in her mild animosity toward Jon. It's cool to see both Sansa and Jon ripen into what they are now. I hope Sansa will continue to take charge.

Cat had more than a mild animosity toward Jon, Mormel; she never could get over his being her husband's bastard. I think you're absolutely correct with Sansa taking her mother's lead regarding Jon; she was the little princess, groomed to become a prim and proper member of Westeros nobility (heck, even its queen!) and Jon, as a bastard, was an embarrassment. Plus, she never liked the rough and tumble games that Bran and Arya enjoyed, and wouldn't have bonded with Jon because of them.

Oh man. Just wow. This show is just too much. Soo good! About "Hodor". Wow. That was perfect. He will be missed. Daenerys' moment with Jorah was great. Very touching. I didn't expect Jorah to last much longer, but her command may lend some life to him yet. Sansa missed her chance to take Littlefinger out of the equation. A decision that will likely come back to haunt her. I'm wondering where Yara and Theon are taking all those ships. Where will they go now? Also, this:

Where will they go now? Also, this: Difficult to say, considering that Peter always has his poker face on. Does he care for her or was she just a means? I like to think of him as the ultimate gamer, with no personal stakes on his play, but attending that meeting unprotected, seems way too risky for a rational move. They're on the run, with the bulk of the iron-borns on their trail. They'll probably seek a larger army to join. Tara would probably favour Danerys, given her desire to leave a legacy, Theon may want to go to Jon, so he can purge his sins. Thormund isn't the least impressed, by Brienne's apparent disdain. I'll bet for him.

They killed the nice doggy. That was rough for an animal lover. It's funny how that scene bothers me more than most human deaths on the show. Still, it would really be stretching things if the wolves always survived the dangerous situations only to meet some big tragic end near the end of the show. As far as the show in general goes, that ending was one of the best scenes in the entire series. Also, a Hodor white-walker is a scary prospect...

Poor Hodor. Where ill we be without the sparkling wit and wisdom of Westeros's greatest raconteur?

Another last minute saving, too much Sam screen time, a pretty pointless speech, predictable reactions from Arya and Tommen... this series is slowly downgrading.

For one thing, I don't think it's possible to have too much Sam, and for another, I've been waiting for Arya to finally get her head together for ages, about time she finally reclaimed Needle and started being true to herself again.

For one thing, I don't think it's possible to have too much Sam, and for another, I've been waiting for Arya to finally get her head together for ages, about time she finally reclaimed Needle and started being true to herself again. I must admit that my personal dislike of the character, doesn't mean there's something wrong with him, I just find Sam and his adventures to be boring. Everything else points towards a loss in originality. One of the nice things about the show, was the fact that no one was safe, that's over. Many characters die, but it's quite clear that some of them are out of trouble. Other peculiar fates, different from death but still noteworthy, are getting discarded of downplayed: Arya as a blind beggar/ assassin for the House of White and Black, Jon as a member of the Night's Watch, Bran as a cripple, Tyrion as a disfigured monstrosity, Theon as a dick-less puppet... I'm specially worried about the last minute rescues, it's becoming commonplace, and more absurd by the minute. Let's take the last one, for example, second time someone stumbles upon a saviour in the woods, which are supposedly huge. They escape riding a horse, the three of them! Only a handful of the undead were upon them, why not the whole bunch? Isn't Bran "branded"?

Finally got a chance to watch Episode 6 after a busy Memorial weekend. Not the best episode but I don't agree that the series is downgrading. I thought the Samwell family arc was great. There is a dynamic there between Sam, Gilly and his family that we aren't seeing elsewhere in the series, which I think will pay off. Man, his father is something else. Loved seeing Sam snag the Heartsbane, you know that sword is going to see some action.
The High Sparrow has hooked the king, eh? What nonsense, but we had to expect something like this I guess. Also surprised Arya disobeyed the will of the Many-Faced God. Also, consider me a fan of Uncle Benjen and his wild White Walker weapons!

Tommen's weak, he can be easily influenced, specially by Margery. It's her turn I find unexplained; the last time we saw her, she was still fighting and trying to keep Loras together,
