Over the door we have the Hawkgirl Bombshell variant Earth 2 cover DC did recently and my Hawkgirl sketch by Howard Chaykin that I got last year at Gem City. Next to the door is a tin sign replica of Brave & the Bold 28 (1st JLA) and the only page of original art I own, a page from the 90's Hawkman series, signed by Andrew Pepoy-the inker that brings us to the Hawkman zone The Hawkman #0 inside the frame of the Ross Hawkman poster is signed by William Messner Loebs, whom I met at Gem City last year. The rest are assorted Hawkman and Hawkgirl action figures and Heroclix, from the Super Powers Hawkman to the Fisher Price Hawkman...hey he's a hero with an identity crisis, so there's a lot of versions (the broken Hawkgirl goes on the emptry base there, and there are a handful more Hawkman action figures on my desk in the studio). -M

Next to the Hawks, we have more Clix.... and that troublemaker, the Bat-Mite under the Hawkzone is a file cabinet... each drawer holds 3 rows of comics, each about a short boxes worth, these are my comics from mid-'77 to early '83. One of the labels made for the cabinet... -M

Under the Hawkzone next to the file cabinet is a corner rack, with Great Cthulhu watching over the room, while Frank Cho's Wolverine promo futilely claws at him... a little Thor themed shelf... a coffee mug and deck of Thor playing cards, and a nerf-style warhammer I picked up at Gen Con in Indy a number of years ago... and speaking of Indy...the bottom shelf... the illustrated screenplay, and a replica of Indy's book from Last Crusade, but with art and photos from the first 3 films and Young Indy chronicles... -M

On the other side of the file cabinet, some more shelves and wall books.... the 4 framed books are in order-The Steranko 75th Batman Anniversary variant cover to Detective Comics, the Steranko Fury cover I won the Classic Cover Contest with a week or so ago, the Neal Adams Tomahawk cover I discovered in the Cover Contest during Adams week and picked up at Stebbins Con in June, and the Marvel Legends replica edition of Avengers #4. You can see the Funko Pop Vinyl Batman '66 Batmobile, and a few caps (BC my alma mater, a Superman logo cap and the one in he middle you can't see well is a Ohio Reniassance Festival cap (whichis where a lot of the statuary you have seen was purchased over the years). There's some prose stuff and comics displayed, chronologically those are comics up through '75 on that shelf (there's more pics that haven't been uploaded of that shelf). Here's some of the prose-Burroughs, Butcher and Gaiman, with Drax and Star-Lord hanging out... My Tarzan first edition is on that shelf, but in the shadows, so I pulled it out to show off... frontspiece... and copyright page for 1918 Like I said before, it's in a little rough shape, but looks good for almost 100 year old book. -M

And the last shelf in that bookcase, no one else likes hanging out with it, too creepy, but it's the Lovecraft circle.... Robert Howard has his own bookcase, but those pics will come later after I upload them... -M

Last shelving unit for tonight... As you enter the comic room there is a Marvel bookcase...complete with mirror effect the top shelf is mag files with the complete Power Man and Iron Fist run and the complete Master of Kung Fu run. Beneath it are the Fireside books (Origins, Son of Origins, Bring on the Bad Guys, The Marvel Women), the Marvel Firsts Volumes I have, Masterworks, the one omnibus I have, and some Essentials... next... more Essentials and some regular Marvel trades and lastly...the rest of the Marvel trades and my Marvel overflow-the mag files have Red Sonja, Immortal Iron Fist, Deadly Hands of Kung Fu issues and a couple of empty ones for space to handle acquisitions. On the side of that case is this.... a Conan static sticker from the Dark Horse promo of the Conan launch, and a print I got at Gen Con a few years back showing the art process, the pencil sketch then the computer colored version of the piece-it's art froma CCG, but it is a good look at the process and what coloring and line art look like in juxtaposition. that's it for tonight. I will finish the comic room showcasing the DC shelves and the Robert Howard unit tomorrow, along with pics of the studio room. -M

Dig that comic cave! Is that Hawkman closest to the edge the one with the swappable Golden and Silver Age heads? I wish I could find a Hawkman story I actually enjoyed.
I really need to organize my crap. I've got a bunch of LoTR LEGO sets taking up shelf space I need for books, so there's some stuff just stacked up and there is no real order. Anybody got any recommendations for shelves that don't cost a fortune and can hold omnibuses? I've got some from Target that look like maybe they're sagging a little (they don't feel weakened) and I'd rather not have all my books fall and get damaged.

If I am correct as to which Hawkman figure you are asking about it's actually the Kenner Super Powers Hawkman. I don't have on e with a swappable head though. The Golden Age Hawkman figure out there is on my radar though, if I can find it at a good price. I came across one at Gem City last year, but my funds were already depleted, so I didn't get it. -M

And now that I look at that picture again, it's pretty clearly different. The wings are wrong and it's much smaller (assuming that real stocky Hawkman is what I think it is).

Going from left to right on the Hawkman figures leftmost is the Kenner Super Powers fig, next to it floating in the recent new52 Hawkmn figure DC released. On the ground below it is this Fisher Price Hawkman and in front of the Hawkman #0 is the Hawkman from the Infinite Crisis 3 pack that came with the 2 Thanagarian wingmewn standing beneath it. -M

Nice comic room mrp. I have those same Alex Ross prints hanging in my office. That print of Clark ripping open his shirt is one of my favorite images. Besides the print, I also have the Superman Forever one-shot that uses that painting as the cover, as well as the 12-inch statue.

Damn, and here I was feeling cool that I had finally filled my fourth long box of comics I mean I've probably sold off at least two more longboxes worth of books in my time but, yeah.
