Zorro and the Cisco Kid are the only classic heroes of Mexican descent in American pop culture (that I can think of, anyway). It's good to see Western stories that aren't lily-white.

Wrap Up of Zorro's 1975 Movie Tomorrow, it's Antonio Banderas's turn and this will take me more than a day to cover it and I'm afraid that it's will take me at least 10 days or more to cover eight ZORRO's that I promised to all of you here and I may take me some time to cover all my bases here. Interesting. I'd never heard of the Delon Zorro. It looks to be superior to the American, made-for-TV movie of the previous year. Looking forward to the remainder.

It is far more superior than the made for TV movie in the previous year - I was very impressed with Alain Delon's performance - I would encouraged to watch that you tube movie when you get a chance to.

The Legend of Zorro (2005)
I'm not going to discuss this movie that came out in 2005 because I did not think highly of it and I had so many issues with it and did not have the magic of Zorro of which he starred in The Mask of Zorro in 1998.

Antonio Banderas - The Mask of Zorro - 1998 MovieTheatrical TrailerHe did a great job as Zorro developing the charm and the charisma of it's character and he was full of action, brave, and most importantly he meshed with Anthony Hopkins who played the original Zorro in this movie and these two actors were brilliant together. Anthony Hopkins gave this movie star appeal and helped Antonio Banderas to movie stardom and that's why I consider these two as perfect tandem together and that's made the movie great as it is. Banderas was masterful as Zorro and he was excellent in many ways more than one and that's why I like this move better than one later on. One thing - that stands out in my mind that Banderas did a better job as Alejandro Murrieta than Zorro. Catherine Zeta-Jones as ElenaI was very much surprised to see her in this movie and she did a great job as Elena = Original Zorro's Daughter and she has it's moments that really made this movie with a much needed sex appeal. She was tough, determined, and loyal to her father at the end and it was a touching moment when the Original Zorro was dying and he offered her hands to his successor - that scene was real and moving to me. Here's that scene pictured below. Very moving scene and it's was my number one scene in this movie that captured the spirit of this movie back in 1998. Highlights of her performance in this movie. To me, when I think of this movie - I only thought of Anthony Hopkins, Antonio Banderas, and Catherine Zeta-Jones and the rest of the movie including Stuart Wilson pictured below who played Don Rafael Montero and Matt Letscher who played Captain Harrison Love were excellent Supporting Actors that made the movie more well rounded and must added touch of villainy that took two Zorros to combat them to equal the cause of justice and righteousness in this blockbuster movie back in 1998. Stuart Wilson Matt LetscherI would have to say this, I enjoyed this movie because it's has a perfect blend of romance, love, action, drama, suspense, and right chemistry of that was better than the Alain Delon's Zorro that came out in 1975. Catherine Zeta-Jones dance scene below you was very memorable to me and that's scene of her being a spirited dancer added a special touch to this movie and that alone is a much needed sex appeal to the movie itself. I enjoyed this movie very much and I just watched it yesterday and I was stunned how well the pace of this movie was and has all the right chemistry between actors in this movie that was hit in 1998.

Douglas Fairbanks - The Mark of Zorro - a 1920 FilmMovie PosterFull Movie HereThis silent classic is a must see movie for all ages and it's one of the best in it's era and it's full of action, drama, and excitement. Douglas Fairbanks did a masterful job as Zorro and he was dashing, full of life, and he was born to play the role of the mask man - Zorro! I just wanted to share that with you and I was very impressed of how well this movie was made back then it's should hold it's own in the test of time and I wished the younger generations men and women under the age of 30 should watch this 1920 classic and it's really packed a punch back then and even today's generations will get a kick out of it. Marguerite De La Motte was fabulous as Lolita Pulido who happen to be Zorro's love interest in this charming movie and she did a great job in this movie and she was animated, stunning, and full of life when she appeared on screen. I just find her a seasoned actress and did a wonderful job of expressing herself on screen of which she did a good job of doing so. Marguerite De La MotteNoah Beery (pictured below) He was excellent as Sgt. Pedro Gonzales and one thing that stands out back then is the excellent costume that he wore in that movie and it's quite detailed and did a fantastic job of sword-fighting with Zorro throughout this movie and often gave Zorro the challenge that he's deserved. I just was very surprised to see him in this movie and I consider it one of the best role that he did in his earlier times in Hollywood. George Periolat as Governor Alvarado and Walt Whitman as Fray Felipe they did a good job supporting the movie and I did not once made a complaint about it and 5 of us went to see it on the big screen We all enjoyed it very much.

Duncan Regehr - Zorro 1990 TV SeriesHe was by far the most charming Zorro ever, I remember this series vividly and I was in awe of how well it's made and furthermore it was a top notch production and the settings were magnificent and it's was splendid as it's come. The Introduction was true to it's core and most importantly it was simply memorable. Duncan Regehr was impeccable, romantic, full of life, and most importantly was a true defender of the poor and the defend-less that's shows it's true colors on a daily basis. It was on the Family Channel back then and I often try to rush home to make the 5:30 PM showing every day when I was working at the time it was on. It's ran every show at least three times and I enjoyed watching it every single day after work. You just can't go wrong with it and most of all - I admired the good qualities of this show and it's made it very clear to me that Duncan made it special. The series shot in Spain in it's whole and was distributed on a wide scale and eventually the Family Channel took command of it. It's has good guest stars ... See link below, Adam West of TV Batman made an appearance too. Wilkipedia Efrem Zimbalist Jr.He played Zorro's father in the 1st Season of Zorro and he was excellent and I wished that he did 2nd season too. But, his health was having trouble and he had to bow out when 1st Season was concluded. He brought the TV Series credibility and name recognition. Henry Darrow He played Zorro's father in the remaining three seasons of Zorro and I find him very charming, delightful, full of love for his son and most importantly he was more than a help to Zorro than Efrem was and that's made the show a bit better and having said that I have the upmost respect for his acting and he was an unknown to me at that time and I was happy to be acquainted with him. Micheal TyloHe was the town Alcalde who was evil and causing a lot of trouble for it's people he was cold, calculating, and quite diabolical in every way step in the way - he appeared in the Season 1 and Season 2 and I was sad to learn that he won't be around in Season 3. He was quite excellent and a good actor too. John HertzlerHe was the town Alcalde when Tylo left the show and I was very disappointed in him and he wasn't memorable as Micheal was and that's in my mind causes the show to suffer and took a downward turn. James Victor He was the Commanding Solider at the Alcalde by the name of Sergeant Jaime Mendoza and he was excellent and I find him a great joy and did a terrific job entertaining me. I have nothing but high praise for him and I learned yesterday that he died on June 20th this year and I consider him a true professional in this show. Juan Diego BottoHe played the speakless servant of Zorro and had a good impression on me helping Zorro in all his cases with respect and love and most importantly was an excellent actor that I hardly knew at all. Patrice Martinez Zorro's love interest and the only female in this show, she was magnificent, romantic, full of love and energy and passion. She was excellent in this show and was very charming and have a terrific smile that melts your heart. She gave the show a feminine appeal that truly memorable and that's one of the many reasons why this show had success. She was very beautiful lady and I felt that she and Duncan had great chemistry together and that's made this show a hit among women who had a large following because of one Patrice Martinez. The Face of Patricia Martinez

Oh, wow. I had nearly forgotten about the 1990 Zorro TV series. It was rather good. Duncan Regehr had given a tour de force performance as Count Dracula in 1987's The Monster Squad, which first brought him to my attention. His Zorro was clever and dashing.

Frank Langella - The Mark of Zorro - Made for TV MovieI have no memory and there isn't a full movie out there in the internet anywhere and having seen this movie once and it's not as nearly as good as the Zorro Movie that came out in 1975 that starred Alain Deleon. I'm truly sorry about all this it's has a pretty darn good cast for a television movie: Ricardo Montalban as Captain Esteban Gilbert Roland as Don Alejandro Vega Robert Middleton as Don Luis Quintero Louise Sorel as Inez Quintero Anne Archer as Teresa Yvonne De Carlo as Isabella Vega Jorge Cervera Jr. as Sgt. Gonzales George Hamilton - Zorro the Gay Blade - 1981 MovieTo me, and I have seen this movie 2-3 times for the fun of it and I consider this movie and it's a parody of the highest order and not a true Zorro Movie - to me it's tends to make people laugh and it's one of the most silliest movies that I ever seen in my lifetime. Pretty decent cast - see link for the full cast report. Full Cast HereFull Movie HereTrailerGuy Williams and Tyrone Powers are my last two ... Hamilton will come in late tomorrow and Powers hopefully I will wrap him up on Wednesday and move on #40.

I had to look up Patrice Martinez, because she looked familiar. Noticed she was the female lead in The Three Amigos. Oh Man I had a crush on her in that movie.

Guy Williams - Zorro 1957 TV SeriesBlack and White IntroColor IntroThis series was produced by ABC and Disney and I only remember the COLOR version and not the BLACK and WHITE version and the only other character that I remember somewhat in my mind was Henry Calvin. From WikipediaSergeant Demetrio López García (portrayed by Henry Calvin) is fat, superstitious and overfond of drink, but also kind-hearted, brave and loyal. Sergeant García believes that he must obey orders from his commanding officers, however cruel or unjust they may be. He tries to soften the blow with his friendly manner, often saying "Please?" as he issues an unpalatable order to a civilian. Although García seldom departs from his sworn duty, he develops considerable respect for Zorro and later in the series is openly glad when Zorro escapes capture. Nevertheless, García dreams of catching Zorro himself to collect the reward money, a dream that Diego encourages from time to time. He also has an excellent singing voice, and performs a number of songs over the course of the series, usually with mug in hand. García replaces McCulley's Sergeant Gonzales from the original stories, played by Noah Beery, Sr. as a hardcore villain in the 1920 film version. He was excellent and pretty much a foil for Zorro and basically was used for the comedy aspects of the show itself. I have very little memory of him but I do remember his antics quite well and his problems trying to capture Zorro and never ever did on his own. He was genuine and somewhat aloof and brought fun to this show. On Guy Williams - ZorroHe was an excellent Zorro and the only show that I watched with my older brothers was the Color Version and I have never, ever seen the Black and White Version of the show. He was born to play Zorro just as much as Clayton Moore was born to play the Lone Ranger. For being a hard of hearing and deaf boy back then his speech was very easy to read lips and his voice was perfect and that's brought me great joy as a kid. He was full of action, commanding on the small screen (Our TV back then was a 13 inch screen) and he was a great entertainer as well. Guy Williams made a name of himself playing Zorro and he was Zorro just a much as Adam West was Batman. My memory is of this show and I just can't recall any of my favorites but it's was powerful, it's carry a message, and the Color Introduction of that show was inspiring. I just loved the ending of it of all the words of "Zorro" flashing at different places on screen and the lightning made it very dramatic and makes you want to remember it well and the Producers of the Show did that to make you want to watch the next telecast. I just loved Guy Williams and he was incredible, dashing, and full of romance. Guy Williams is Zorro! One more thing, I just loved the costumes, the settings, and the photography of this show too. It's made it quite good, and Guy Williams had that smile that I like. Tomorrow, it will be Tyrone Powers and that's my Final Zorro!

Tyrone Powers - Mark of Zorro - 1940 MovieI'm having rotten luck all morning to find an appropriate video clip of this movie and none of them meets my approval and when I do find one it's not in English but in Spanish and French Language. No Video Clips for the Mark of Zorro Movie - Starring Tyrone Powers. To me, there are three central characters in this movie: Tyrone Powers as Diego / Zorro Eugene Pallette as Fray Felipe J. Edward Bromberg as Don Luis Quintero But, first I'm going to talk about Eugene Pallette as Fray Felipe He was the one of two central characters of whom I felt was vital for this movie of where he set the record straight and constantly gets frustrated by Diego charming his way into Don Luis Quintero's family and his intentions of romancing Lolita Quintero's heart in hopes of marrying her someday and that's made him very frustrating indeed. During one scene of this movie that sets the wheel in motion of where Captain Esteban Pasquale being played by Basil Rathbone caught Fray of the jewels in a chest and that prompts him to arrest him and Zorro speeds up the action to force his hands of restoring order in the Alcalde of where Don Luis Quintero was improperly installed as the town Alcalde and that was key moment of this dashing movie back in 1940. Then onto J. Edward Bromberg as Don Luis Quintero! Another key figure of this movie that was frighten the death of one Zorro that constantly leaving his Mark at the right time to terrorized him and that alone prompt Diego to constantly visit him at his place and that alone makes his Father and Mother very angry and frustrated of his son not taking any action upon the corruption of this one Man did to the Alcalde that he represent. The main reason is for that - is another central message to this story and I haven't thought of that for a very long time - there is an old saying here. Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer - and that's the reason why Diego / Zorro did that to restore law and order and that's why this movie was great. Tyrone Powers Of all the Zorros that I have seen he was the best and the most entertaining one indeed his sword fight in this clip below was the best scene in this movie - bar none. He had flair for the dramatic, romantic, charming, delightful, a man of mystery, and most of all one of the most dashing Zorro ever. I have nothing of respect for his acting in this movie and I find him truly amazing and that's why he's the best and forces his hand of the removal of Don Luis Quintero and send him on a boat to Spain was brilliant and restoring his Father who is the rightful Alcalde in due process was the highlight of this movie. That's why I did not want to spend anytime on Basil Rathbone, Linda Darnell, and any other characters in this movie because they were basically supporting characters and even Linda Darnell was the female lead of this action packed movie back in 1940 and I felt that this movie should had starred Tyrone Powers all by himself and the two that I've mention that I wanted to share about should been the two other starring characters because they were two focal points of this movie alone. Anyway, I just wanted to get that off my chest and I felt that Tyrone Powers is the best Zorro of the eight Zorro(s) that I've seen and sorry all of your Antonio Banderas fans that Tyrone is better than him. I'm going on to do Number 40 sometimes tomorrow or next day
