I understand your thoughts and I thought they were two totally different characters and I understand where you are coming from and all. One in the tail end of the Golden Age of Comics and the other one in the Silver Age of Comics. Did you change your username? Who do you think you are, a superhero? Actually, I changed my username to reflect one of my top villains in Marvel Universe - the Unstoppable Juggernaut.

By the time I "met" Jean, she was a non Phoenix powered force to be reckoned with. A telepath of the highest order, (are MU telepathy ranked anywhere?) coupled of course with her impressive telekinesis. After re-reading the original stories thru dark Phoenix and then post resurrection. Her progression as acharacter was really something to see. Watching her break Sabretooths leg (as promised) showed me a use of that power that I had never thought of, she can literally crush you... You are so correct S & S and I do remember her breaking Sabretooth's Leg and having that great telepathic powers is one of the reasons that I was in awe of it. 50 of the Most Powerful Telepaths

Jean Grey and the X-MenJean Grey met Professor X for the 1st time and they had a cordial relationship at first and one of the most pivotal one indeed. I find their relationship as Mentor and Student quite mutual one indeed. Their relationship is quite complicated and later on the student literally became the most powerful telepath in Marvel Comics and that alone made Professor X quite uneasy at first and when she became the Phoenix with it's life force. So, her journey begin here as a member of the X-Men Family. Jean Grey met her X-Men Family for the first time! From Left to Right Hank McCoy as the Beast, Bobby Drake as the Ice Man, Slim Summers as the Cyclops, and Warren Worthington III as the Angel. Professor X introduce her to her teammates and called her Marvel GirlLater on, those five Mutants became the Original X-MenWith Professor X guiding them Picture Below is a big favorite of mine showing Jean Grey putting away a book! I also like the narrative here too. Picture Below is her first costume as Marvel Girl Marvel Girl is Born!

Worst Costume of Jean Grey Member of the Hellfire ClubGrade F X-Men 134Why it's the worst it's actually so bad it's forces me to reconsider what they done is to transport Jean Grey into an imaginary world of Mastermind (Jason Wyngarde) and transform Jean Grey into a Super Villains that's bothers me so much I did not read any of the novels and cartoon show because it's upset me greatly when they made this switch. I gave it a grade of F because it's fit my criteria and her hair looks so dated and it's not a funny thing to think about. I felt that her wearing that blue cape doesn't do any justice at all and I've admit it's does look striking and sexy; but it's a radical change that I wasn't expecting it. The Costume Change occurred in Issue #134 and I provide you a cover of that issue of her first appearance of Black Queen in Issue 134 and I just wanted to say this to everyone here it's shocked the living daylights out of me and having said that shocked beyond disbelief that I've never, ever, dream a day that an X-Man wearing a cape, hair held high, and wearing a sexy corset that made Jean Grey a warped Victoria Secret's Model of Yesterday. I just don't like it one bit. Later On, the next one on the list ...

Jean Grey Phoenix CostumesPhoenix Green Grade B X-Men 101Personally Speaking the only Phoenix Costume that I care about is the Green Outfit that I shared here and all the others are okay but, I don't want to dwell on those outfits either. There are two more that I like but I have mixed feelings about them and having said that I felt that Marvel Comics did a severe injustice of having way too many outfits of Phoenix and that's a big turn off for me alone. I like the Green one the best because the Green and the Yellow (Yellow being the Secondary Color) enhance it a great deal and helps the reader a smooth transition from going from one to another. I like the Eagle Emblem and design of the overall costume and having shared that it's looks unique and classy. I also like the yellow stash that doubles as a belt here and that alone made it very sexy and that's the winner on my book. The Yellow (appeared to be Gold-Like) complimented her overall schemes of things and combined the Green Costume and Red Hair it's made it very complimentary and that's made the original Phoenix Costume shines. Very Good Overall Design and that's why I gave it a B.

Phoenix WhiteThe White Costume gets a grade of C and having said that I consider it not an original but someone at Marvel Comics gave it a Space Ghost look because of the Black Triangle in her costume and both Yellow and White are two prominent colors and they clash and therefore you have a lack of a secondary color and I have to spell it out to you - it's that pipsqueak Black and that why I consider it very average looking indeed. Her red hair clash with the Black portion of her costume and that's alone made it very negative indeed and the design is still there but the color scheme is all wrong. Phoenix Red The Red Costume gets a grade of D Minus and knowing that alone the presence of too much red is overpowering and the Yellow being the secondary color stands out and that's kills the costume alone. I never, ever liked it and I did not spend much time reading X-Men Comic Books when she was in her Phoenix persona because I just can't stand all of these costumes and they went overboard on it and that alone kills my love of Jean Grey. I just can't stand it at all and this costume almost gotten a F grade. That's how horrible it really is.

Did you change your username? Who do you think you are, a superhero? Actually, I changed my username to reflect one of my top villains in Marvel Universe - the Unstoppable Juggernaut. Yes, but superheroes are the ones that change their names sometimes (Alan Scott, Monica Rambeau, Wally West, Bart Allen, etc.). Besides, Juggernaut became a good guy for a while, something I'd just as soon forget.

Jean Grey's Original CostumeGrade C X-Men 1Average at it's best, original is a classic design nothing fancy it's a nice two tone costume of royal (dark) blue and yellow in all the right places and I like the Yellow Boots and Gloves to make it professional looking and at the same time pretty generic as well and they want her to start off on the right track allowing the Marvel Artists to find tune it along the way. This look lasted 26 issues until they change her look in X-Men 27. Classy, Dignified, and Original too. That's Marvel Girl in her original form - In Style!

Original Costume Tweaked - Jean GreyGrade B Plus X-Men 27The biggest change is the Mask of which they made it much more stylish and feminine and it's made her red hair stands out more and that made it even better and having said that I find it much more alluring than the original and that's why I like it even better than before. The blue is a little bit darker and more intense than the original costume and that was a big improvement over the original costume and they made it even more elegant by introducing the V Neck and that's another improvement and that's one of another reasons that I gave it a B+ grade. Anyway, this costume had a short life span because back then they were thinking about making another change 12 issues later that really shook things up!

Best Marvel Girl Costume - Jean GreyGrade A Plus X-Men 39Note: I have a copy of this book. In X-Men 39, I was totally caught by surprise that they gave her a totally new look and a totally new direction of being one of the first superhero to wear a dress. It's was groundbreaking and it's was fabulous indeed. This is my favorite costume of Marvel Girl History and they went from a blue mask to a yellow mask and that alone did the trick. I've immediately fell in love with it and with Green is now the predominate color it's draws attention to her ravishing red hair and her yellow mask and that alone makes you think twice of beauty of Jean Grey and having her having blue eyes and all it's made her beauty unparalleled and that's my friends made it special. I just can't find anything wrong with it and that's the beauty of this costume that appeared in Issue 39.
