Dumbest Idea that DC Comics ever did to Lex LuthorLuthor's Warsuit You are one of the rare people that liked Luthor's battle armor. Pretty much, about 70 percent of the people that I've talked to did not like it one bit. For you, that's okay and I can understand your reasons. There is no harm in that. Hey...I loved the warsuit too! Like hondo says, if a billionaire business man like Luthor is gonna go up against the Man of Steel, it makes a lot for him to have built something like this. No, I haven't ... it's interesting that Marvel puts Strange and Doom together in a story line. Sounds intriguing. You should check out the 2006 Books of Doom mini-series by Ed Brubaker and Pablo Raimondi. I thought it was really good and it really fleshes out a lot of Doom's back story, while examining what it is that makes him a villain. What makes him tick. The 2006 book ... I already ordered it and I should have it in my hands in a day or two. My LCS has an used copy of it and it's pretty good shape and they got it for me for $5.00 and that's includes shipping and handling and I used some of my credit money to pay for it.

You'll like that Books of Doom mini. It was one of the best things Marvel done in years, despite re-treading old ground.

Confessor & hondobrode The 2006 book arrived and I haven't had the time to read it and I was very surprised by the artwork of Mike Mignola & Mark Badger and it's amazing how these two put it altogether. I did not know that Roger Stern authored it and I had all the stories bundle up and this is what I got in the mail. I will probably read it this weekend.

#18 Avengers - Marvel Comics Premier GroupFirst Issue of the Avengers - where they face Loki - The God of Evil! I have the 1st Story of the Avengers - In Marvel Masterworks Volume 1 and I always bothered by Marvel's inability to put The Wasp name on the top portion of the Avengers #1 Comic Book and it's still bothers me even today. Anyway, I will be sharing in a day or two one of my favorite stories of the Avengers and my thoughts on Iron Man, Ant-Man, The Wasp, and the Incredible Hulk and of course my thoughts on Giant Man and Captain America who joined the Avengers in Avengers #4 of which it a milestone issue that always on the mind of all Marvel Classic Comic Reader. I always prefer the earlier Avengers Stories and I will be making some comments on several of them throughout the next 3-5 days and I'm going to try my best to explain why I like those stories and share additional comments as well. Avengers Assemble!Favorite Logo of the Avengers - The Original!

My Thoughts on the 1st 5 Stories of the Avengers & the Original Members as well ... including Captain America!Plus Ranking of the Original Avengers as well ...My analysis of this post is based on the first five stories of the AVENGERS and it's first seven members ... they are Ant-Man, Captain (1st Recruit) America, Giant Man, the Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, and the Wasp. I'm going to rank each member of my personal favorite down to the last and least important member of the group that's going to break some hearts here in this forum. I've touched based all 5 stories from the Avengers Marvel Masterworks Volume 1 and I'll be sharing some comments briefly why I have concerns of why Marvel under the direction of Stan Lee who served as Editor of Marvel Comics from 1945 to 1972. His decision on the Avengers Ranks makes me wonder why he did this in the first place. 1) IRON MANIn the original issue Iron Man suit was solid gold and I just loved this suit for it's practical sense and Tony (Iron Man) Stark worn it in the original and the next issue of which the Avengers battled a villain that calls himself the Space Phantom. I was disappointed that this suit had a short and memorable history and they decided to go with the classic red/yellow suit that all of us know about. I just felt that Iron Man was the glue of the Avengers and to me he even later on uses his Mansion and his valet Jarvis to open it for the Avengers so that they can have a Meeting Place to attend to so that they can all get know each other better. I felt that he was the soul of the group of which he tried so hard to keep this group together and all that. I just loved this character and it's technology that Tony Stark puts into it and that's why I always be a fan of Iron Man's involvement in the Avengers. 2) GIANT MANI like his character Ant-Man and the concept of it; when Marvel Comics decided to expand Hank Pym's role they decided to make him a dual threat - Ant Man and Giant Man! ... At first he right around 10 feet tall and later on can grow to the height of 25 feet making him one of the most imposing Marvel Comics Character around. I'm a fan of this character and having said that he made the AVENGERS a very unique team. In the 2nd Issue I was shocked to see a new character in the line-up of where they introduced Giant-Man and this made Hank Pym one of the most dynamic character of Marvel Comic History of where they constantly reboot him to different characters and every time they do this it's hit GOLD! I felt that this character is one of the many reasons that I was drawn into this group in the first place and that alone make him totally cool and I always a sucker for a tall and dominating character and that's one of the reason why I changed my username from MechaGodzilla to Juggernaut because Juggernaut is 9 feet 5 inches. Giant Man is one of Marvel Comics best ideas and that alone makes the Avengers tick. 3) ANT-MANAnother Hank Pym great character and he and the Wonderful Wasp makes a great pair and that alone is another reason that I liked him in the first place. Ant-Man in my mind is a team player and another glue on the team of which I can see it in all issues of the Avengers that I saw. I felt that he was unappreciative at first when he was in his identity of Ant-Man and the group felt that his other character Giant Man was more important to the group than his small size of which they already have another member who is small also - THE WASP. I felt the partnership of Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne was one of the best couple in Marvel Comics History and to me I feel that this couple should had more adventures together and I wanted Marvel Comics to balance Hank Pym equally with his persona of Ant-Man and Giant Man on a more equal grounds. Instead they opt to his Giant Man persona first and his Ant-Man persona second. In the first 5 issues Giant Man was more prominent than Ant-Man and that's bothers me a lot. 4) THE WASPThe Original Female Member of the Group and one of the most beloved one and had a crush on the Mighty Thor and that alone is shown in the 2nd Story of where the Avengers fought the Space Phantom. She was a great in many ways - good communicator, great team player and works well with both Giant Man and Ant Man at the same time. I felt that they should used her more and that alone bothers me a lot. I felt that she was unappreciative in terms of how Marvel Comics put her in situations in the first 5 stories. I wished that they use Janet more and they kind of failed on that alone. She deserves better. 5) THORAvenger's most powerful Member - I felt that Thor is more powerful than the Hulk and that's my own opinion and I know that the Hulk can hold it's own and that's one of the reasons why they went with Thor instead of the Hulk as the residence strong man in the group. I had many issues with Thor in the beginning of the Avengers and that's why they chose Loki as the first villain of the classic 1st edition of the Avengers and he was the turning point of it's battle with the Space Phantom of which the Wasp was sent to Doctor Donald Blake assistance so he can contact THOR of which he's secretly the God of Thunder himself. At first, I didn't care for this character and still do but after awhile I started to enjoy this character more and more as he became on of the leaders of this group and that makes him one of the most iconic character in Marvel Comics. 6) CAPTAIN AMERICAAvengers's first recruit and he became the first true leader of the group because of his military background and he appeared for the first time in Issue #4 and when became a member he was truly was a special and that's made the group more well rounded and I was very pleased when he joined the Avengers. He always a favorite of mine and sorry that I ranked him lower than THOR because THOR was the original member not Captain America. His leadership against the Lava Men in the 5th Adventure is always a classic and that's brings us our last and most unappreciated member ... The Hulk. 7) THE HULKI was very bitter over Stan Lee's decision to make the Hulk one of the most difficult character to analyze in his short term membership of the Avengers and in the 3rd Issue they made the Hulk team up with the Sub Mariner to battle the Avengers in the most shocking issue of all time of which I felt that they should not had done this in the first place because both the Hulk and the aquatic marvel - Sub Mariner were joined together of their hatred of the Avengers and that alone makes me ill because I wanted the Hulk to become a true Superhero ... not what Marvel had in mind in this issue alone. It's was Marvel worst decision in the History of the Avengers and three issues later in Avengers #5 of which they battle the Lava Men - on the Cover it's clearly said ... Also Featuring THE INCREDIBLE HULK and that alone made him an ex-member and/or Honorary Member and that's makes me very sad indeed.

Yes, Wasp was terribly misused throughout the whole Silver Age, and then some. She did develop into one of my favorite Avengers later on, though, probably starting in the late 70's.

I never read any of the original stories, but was she always getting caught, the boys having to save her? As good natured as it may have been (sign of the times) editorial was I'm sure very chauvinistic in those days...

She didn't get caught as often as the Invisible Girl, but she was always chasing boys, especially Thor, and she was far more worried about her next hairdo or manicure than about fighting bad guys. Plus, she rarely contributed in battle. Just a token female. When she became Avenger leader (during the roger Stern run?) I thought she did a very good job. You've come a long way, baby.

I know the constant costume changes were more of ( I thought) a reflection of her fashion expertise, by the time I was introduced to her she was very formidable.

AVENGERS MOVIES Avengers The Movie - 2012 Trailer of the MovieAvengers - Age of Ultron - 2015Trailer of the MovieThere is a 3rd Movie coming out in 2018 - Infinity War and I don't know anything about it and can't draw a conclusion to it. I saw both 2012 and 2015 movies and I enjoyed the 1st one and did not enjoy the 2nd one. I felt that the 2nd one did not meet my standards and having said that it's was over-hyped and too many characters. I was very disappointed in Ultron and I felt that this movie has too many stops and gaps in it because it was done editing wise very poorly in my view. I saw it once on the big screen and hasn't seen it since. I enjoyed the 1st movie very much and it's was very dramatic and done in good taste. I felt that the characters seems to flow better than the 2nd one and I find the first one done in the right way. Anyway, I understand that the 3rd Movie involving Infinity War and I simply care less about this movie coming out in 2018. I probably not see it for that reason alone because I do not know a thing about Infinity Gems and I have a very limited knowledge of this concept. I'm not a Thanos Fan at all and I simply careless about this character because I have problems understanding him and I get confused by it. Thanos - Marvel Character that I have no interest in knowing better. Infinity GemsHere's the trailer - Unofficial OneAvengers 3 - 2018 MovieSo, having said that the only movie that I like is the 1st one and sorry about my negativity in this post and I have to be honest to myself. I felt that the 1st one had more flair, substance, better editing, and humor than the 2nd one.

I don't really have a favorite Avengers Comic Book Story to share here but I have fond memories of reading Avengers 4 of which Captain America joined the Avengers and I only read the first 40-60 comic books that came out and another 10-20 in spotty measures of which I tried my best to get back into it. I only have the 1st Volume of Avengers Marvel Masterworks and that's has all my sentimental favorites but no clear favorites for me to share here in this thread.
Sorry about that.
I'm moving onto Number 17 of which I will spend more time on and have a good understanding of this character!

Special Notice
There is No #3 and No #6 in my countdown because I felt it is the right thing to do is to combined 2 characters that I will be sharing in Number 5 and 2 characters in Number 2.
I have a very good reason for that.
