Three ACTORS that played SPIDER-MAN Tobey Maguire - 1st SpidermanHe is the best, even better than Andrew Garfield and I find his emotions, mannerism, and caring surpassed any of the characteristics of Andrew. I'm disappointed in Hollywood that they don't cast him anymore and his usefulness had ended when was finished to play Spider-Man in 2007. I feel that his portrayal as Peter Parker was Outstanding and his acting as Spider-Man was excellent and played the part just perfectly in my own opinion. He is the best and I feel that his first two movies with him battling the Green Goblin and Doc Ock was excellent and his third film with Sandman was not as good as the first two. I find his Peter Parker's role was the best of the three and the jury is still out on Tom Holland. Andrew Garfield was not a good as Tobey. Grade A-Andrew Garfield - 2nd SpidermanI never really care for him at all and he was a good Spider-Man and has the right stuff to be Spider-Man but his dark hair and lanky body doesn't scream Peter Parker and I feel that he was an average at best at Peter Parker and an Excellent Spider-Man. I did not think very highly of him and his movies wasn't all that memorable either and that's why I had a hard time recalling them. To me, I felt that Hollywood did a poor job selecting him and furthermore he wasn't prepared for it. Many of my members at my local comic store had mixed feelings about him and that's why they had a hard time accepting him. He was good as Spider-Man but not as good as Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker. Grade C+Tom Holland - 3rd SpidermanThe jury still out on him and I felt that he doesn't scream Peter Parker and I felt that he was too goofy to play that role and having seen Captain America Civil War - I just can't judge his ability to play Peter Parker but he did okay job as Spider=Man but I felt - I'm going to have to wait before he does a solo film and so I can compare him with Tobey and Andrew. I seem to recall from The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe that Spider-Man can lift 10 tons, though it's been many years since I've read that. Granted, I'm sure he's been "powered up" since then because some people mistakenly believe that more powerful = better. Heck, he's probably Superman level by now, but I don't follow newer comics much, fortunately.
That's one of my favorite things about Spider-Man, his power level. He's powerful enough to be interesting, but not so powerful as to not face danger or difficulty. I especially love the Spider Sense. What a unique and interesting super power. I do wish that the webbing came with his other powers though. The webbing is the only uniquely spider-ey thing bout him, actually. The strength, quickness, and ability to climb could belong to pretty much any insect.
