My father-in-law read the comics back in the Golden Age, along with seeing just about every serial ever made.
He recorded a documentary about Stan Lee and Marvel Comics for me. We watched it the next time I was at his place.
They came to the Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends part, and he says, "I remember watching that on Saturday mornings."
He would've been in his 40's then. It was just funny him blurting that out.

I'm done with Spider-Man, and I'm going to take a couple of days off to do - Number 5 because there is no Number 6 in my countdown and I will be doing a 2 for 1 for Number 5.
It will be a fun to do this!

I don't how you narrowed it down to 5 artists! Gil Kane was a favorite of mine:

Yeah, Spidey has had some really great artists over the years. Despite not liking the artist, I have to give him props on his Spidey (Todd McFarlane)

Yeah, Spidey has had some really great artists over the years. Despite not liking the artist, I have to give him props on his Spidey (Todd McFarlane) Ron Frenz and Todd McFarlane are two great artists and I do like Gil Kane too ... but, I did not see much of McFarlane but I did see a lot of Frenz and I had to go with Ron for the time being. So, Ron got the 5th Place Billing.

Battle of the Fishnets Black Canary and Black Widow - Tied at #5Black Canary from DC Comics & Black Widow from Marvel Comics BLACK CANARY - DC COMICS BLACK WIDOW - MARVEL COMICS For a good part of 7 to 10 days - I will be sharing some things about Black Canary and Black Widow pretty much on Equal Terms and one will be different from the other and I'm thinking about doing something very radical with them. I consider these heroines one of the most intriguing and yet sexy because they both wear fishnets! I find them to be one of the most sophisticated and yet sexy at the same time and they have some similarities that I wanted to point out and I will be doing that at the same day that I find it quite interesting to see that in the lives of Natasha and Dinah in their relationship with Clint (Hawkeye) Barton and Oliver (Green Arrow) Queen. I will be sharing 30-40 pictures in the course of 7-10 days and it will be as extensive as my joy of Jean (Marvel Girl) Grey of Marvel Comics. I will start sometimes tomorrow and I need additional time to figure things out and proceed from there. So, the Battle of Fishnets begins tomorrow with both Black Canary and Black Widow ... two of my favorite heroines in DC and Marvel Comics.

Hard to choose a favorite between Black Canary and Black Widow....Black Widow is exotic, sophisticated--especially in the 60s when drawn by Don Heck. Black Canary is a bit lighter....married to her detective sweetheart and running her florist shop, later switching earths and dating Green Arrow. Right now, Black Widow has the edge for me!

Scarlett Johansson as the Black WidowShe did a great job as Black Widow and did unbelievable impression on the big screen debut in Iron Man and I find her exactly what I want in Natasha's role in due notice. I felt that she has all the mannerisms and style of the Black Widow and did an impressive set of motions that I find very refreshing indeed. I would give her a grade of A for her role and I wished her continuing success in all future Marvel Films and having said that I feel that Scarlett has a very promising career playing her. I wish they find a better Hawkeye - a little more handsome character but I'm not really complaining at all. I would love to see a Black Widow & Hawkeye Movie but I don't think Marvel Films would do that. Anyway, I find Scarlett a force to be reckon with and I felt that she was born to play Black Widow.

For the Role of the Black CanaryNote to All: I know old actresses better than the current ones. I just don't watch much of the newer movies and I spend a lot of time watching movies from Turner Classic Movies and I have a large selection of DVD showing many of the classic stars from 1930's to 1960's. First Place - Catherine DeneuveShe would be my first choice to play the Blonde Bombshell because she has the right shade of Blonde that I want and I consider her exotic, sensual, and more importantly has the moxie to play the part perfectly. She's the right height and body shape and I would like her to lose a few pounds to make it work. She would give her part in any movie Star Power. Catherine has the Wow Factor and that alone makes her special! Second Place - Barbara BouchetThe Bond Girl in the Campy Version of Casino Royale has all the making to play the role of the Black Canary and more I watched that film - I find her to be just perfect for the Blonde Bombshell and I find her to be more refreshing and more youthful look. She has that All American Girl that I like and knowing that she is the right height and weight to make it work. I have seen other television and movies of her and she has the beauty to play the part perfectly. Third Place - Mamie Van DorenThis selection may come to surprise to some of you here and I do watched a lot of her film and one thing for sure about her that's she has the legs to play the part and I find her to be a blend of both Catherine and Barbara and has some of their qualities that i like. I really like her a lot and one of my favorite actresses in the 50's and I watched a lot of movies that were made in the 50's and she is one of my sentimental favorites. I questioned her athletic ability that could marked her down as the Blonde Bombshell.

I'm having Internet problems for the time being and I've may have to run more tests and the problem is my loading time and getting a bunch of timing out issues that I just can't seems to go away. I'm going to have to stop for a day or two until this problem is fixed.
Five Minutes to logon and compose this quick reply is not acceptable to me.

Original Pictures of the Black Widow and CostumeThis picture above you in Blue is the Original Concept of Natalia "Natasha" Alianovna Romanova of a sophisticated agent of the Soviet Union that showed class and style that Marvel wanted and they worked that in her character alone so she can worked her way to spy and espionage. These pictures in White of her wearing a green satin dress and brown fur wrap showcases her beauty and deception to further her spy activities in the United States and these pictures showed class and distinction that made her a beauty that's catches the eyes of Tony Stark in the early books of Tales of Suspense and other books as well. Her veiled face made added allure and class that's made her more mysterious than ever. Original Concept of her CostumeAccording to my good friend Jeff - this is her original costume designed by Marvel Comics and this was starting point of appeal of glamour that in the early days of Marvel that they wanted to create something that no one ever dream of. It was her original costume that captured the allure that she has and that's why I find her to be one of the eye-catching appeal and the Mask and the Short Cape made it special. I just wanted to share these pictures of the early days of the Black Widow to give you all a good taste of how well Marvel Comics did with her. You can clearly see some of the Hollywood Glamour in her and that's why I consider her a very exciting and exotic villain at first that later became a Super Heroine that works closely with Iron Man, Hawkeye, and the rest of the Avengers.
