Original Costume of the Black CanaryAnother Fishnet Beauty that captured my fancies during her run in the Justice Society of America and she and Wonder Woman became the first one-two punch that appeared in All-Star Comics #41 that this truly an historical event in DC Comics having two women on a Major Comic Book that featured the JSA. I just loved her short dinner style jacket, her boots, and most importantly it's had class and with that Jacket and combined that with Motorcycle she has that Bad Girl style that I like and this picture below her in her days with the Justice League showcases that. Of all the Heroines - Both Black Canary and Black Widow has a style of their very own and that's why I had them tied at Number 5 because of they influenced me because of their stature in their respected Comic Book Companies of being one of the originals that brought sex appeal in a way that showed class and dignity.

Favorite Splash Page of the Black Canary and Picture tooBTW, it is one of my favorite stories in the early days of DC Comics and I find it very enjoyable read and it's really puts the partnership of Starman and the Black Canary in a very surprisingly positive spin. I'm a big fan of Ramona Fradon and her Black Canary invoked Beauty in the first degree! She does it quite tastefully.

Favorite Splash Page of the Black Widow and Picture tooIt's double as a PIN-UP too and I loved the dynamics and the action appeal of this picture above you. I just loved this very much! After a hard day of battle, she comes home cleaned up and dressed very provocatively and recapping the day and hopes to do better for tomorrow. It's makes her a sophisticated and at the same time her own way sexy without even trying. I just loved the huge band-aid on her right shoulder indicating that she fought hard and fierce.

Black Widow - Don Heck - Part 2 of 2He sure knows how to draw the prettiest eyes and loved his closeups of faces here ... I wanted to share these two photos all in one and I made it to express my appreciation of his eyes and general expression of Black Widow's face. I'm moving on to Number 4 on my list either late Friday and/or Saturday AM.

Great photos of Black Canary and Black Widow. That one BC pic you weren't sure of the artist, I believe it is Dick Dillin with inks by Joe Giella or Murphy Anderson? The other picture from the 80s is by Kevin McQuire(not sure if that's how his last name was spelled).
Looking forward to your posts on Wonder Woman. I can't really pinpoint a favorite story. Come to think of it, my opinion of WW is shaped more by the TV show and 70s merchandising. I recently read the Wonder Woman George Perez omnibus and I can appreciate those stories more now as an adult rather than the teenager I was in the 80s. To me, WW will always be someone who gave up everything she knew to follow her heart and a man she loved. She fought for what was right and in the end just wanted to be human despite all her powers.
