True but it's the best addiction possible. No one is stealing from their mother to buy the latest Star wars comic. Well, not now that I'm in my mid-thirties. Good man.

Recently, my brother visited me and brought a chunk of my comics from my parent's house. I now have my entire ASM collection under the same roof. My goal is to go through it all and bag and board and re-read. In addition, I know there are some issues in need of an upgrade so I think that is where I will start this year. I also think that more Spidey buying will occur. This means filling in my run from #50-100, including hopefully purchasing #50. I would also like to pick up the first 20 issues or so of Marvel Team-Up as it is an underrated series but great fun. Basically, a return to the stuff I used to only collect for 2017...Spider-Man!

I've always heard that new year resolutions, in order to be maintained throughout the year, have to be reasonable, obtainable goals. With that in mind, I resolve to continue reading the comics that I find enjoyable and entertaining, to check out those titles that appear interesting to me and see if they can meet the first criteria, and to collect that to which I am inspired about at that moment in time. Been there, done that. And then I see comics selling somewhere and I'm like a dog on a bowl of Alpo. Oh yeah, I'm sure there's a triple chocolate layer fudge cake's worth of comic goodness spoiling my way at some point this year. Temptation is ever present, ever whispering.

Probably an unrealistic goal considering my reading output the last few years, but I hope to read at least one comic book everyday in 2017.
Another goal that I'm going to really try to complete is a weekly read through/review of the series Dark Horse Presents. I started a blog, Trevor Presents Dark Horse Presents, and will probably make it a review thread here.

Vintage toy goals:-acquire at least 2-3 Micronauts pieces -try to acquire at least 5 more pieces total from other lines I collect or have interest in* -M Well I acquired my first Micronauts piece today, the Aquatron, and a couple of pieces from other lines I am interested in, 2 carded Flash Gordon action figures from the 90s series, and Green Arrow retro-Mego style figure from the DC Silver Age Super-Heroes line, so the year's not off to a bad start hitting some of the goals. -M

Buy and read more of Marvel Masterworks series as today's comics disappoint me greatly.

Oh the yearly goals. I debated if I wanted to do them this year or wing it as the year went along. I have a general idea what I want to accomplish, but haven't finalized everything yet, so consider this a first draft... Reading goals:-finish reading all comic stories I own from the 1950s (currently read slightly more than half of what I own and it is the current focus of my reading) -M well we can knock that one off the list, just finished reading the last comic story I owned form the 1950s that I hadn't read before (Flash #109 cover dated Nov 1959), so that is one reading goal down and many more to go for 2017. -M

I'm keeping it simple this year and finishing my Daredevil run from 168-300 (minus a few fill in issues during the Nocenti run).
If I finish that early, I'll work on finishing the Marvel Knights series.

Accomplished one goal of sorts, I got rid of 12 Humberto Ramos variant covers I own. I made an extra $60 on these and I'm putting that aside for something I spied on ebay.

So far things have settled down for Marvel, DC and Image as of right now for January 2017.
I have most of Snotgirl, all of Death of X i need to read and some of Superman Rebirth up to issue 11.
The rest of 2017 starting in March or April, I need to get back into buying old single back issues of classic stuff such as Fantastic Four, original Uncanny X Men, 1990s Wolverine, Amazing Spider Man to catch up on some stuff, 1987 Byrne Superman Man of Steel issues and stick with buying the rest of Alpha Flight from issue 12 to 129. the rest of Alpha Flight will take a long time to do but the other old comics Ill have an easier time with since I know what minor story arcs etc I know what Im going to buy anyway.
