The Black Hood is back and what a mess! Lots going on last night. Veronica showing that she is truly her father's daughter, Cooper family drama, a secret revealed, Cheryl causing trouble for Sheriff Keller....wow! I enjoyed this episode quite a bit as the focus was on something other than Hiram Lodge and all of his crime drama. Veronica sure stuck it to Nick St. Clair and his family!

Hopefully that was the last we see of Chic. Felt bad for Veronica. But she turned the tables. I would love to see her get back at her father for not helping her. I felt bad for Sheriff Keller.
And yes this episode worked for me because the two things that I disliked this season (Chic & Hiram) got resolved or were a background story.
And the Black Hood is back....

I just read on the Archie Comics Instagram page that Charles Melton (Reggie) and Vanessa Morgan (Toni) will be series regulars on season 3!

What an intense episode. So much happened. Did we really find out who the Black Hood is? Betty is playing a dangerous game. So is Mr Lodge. Hope his latest plan backfires & Riverdale finds out what he did. Veronica is going against her parents? Wow.

I felt sorry for Fangs! Agree, very intense episode--and now Mr. Lodge has Reggie under this thumb. I wonder since Charles Melton will be a regular next season if Lodge will disown Archie and require Veronica to date Reggie...a twist on the classic Archie/Reggie rivalry for Veronica. The Black Hood mystery deepens and I loved Betty and Cheryl teaming up. The last few minutes....wow!!!! And if I could vote in Riverdale, Fred Andrews would have my vote!

To be honest, I saw the last two shows and frankly it's becoming more and more -- not to my liking and I've saw guns, too much intensity, and it's becoming more and more like Dynasty and Dallas (figure of speech) and furthermore the tension builds up too quickly and that's alone makes me wants to not to watch it anymore. They need to tone it down a bit more and I read from @mrjupiter that Reggie and Toni will be regulars in Season 3 that's might help the show. I just wished that this show was more fun, less mystery (for me to come back -- the Black Hood needs to be killed off the show), more romance, and they need to make it more like the Archie Comics back in the early 60's.
I'm trying so hard to like this show -- but, the writers and the directors of this show keeps turning me off and thankfully for On-Demand -- each show is 40 minutes long and that's why I watch it on On Demand than on CW Network.
Same thing with Supegirl, The Flash, Arrow, and all the rest of the Superhero shows on that network and the one that really irks me is Black Lightning and I don't care for it at all. Everyone of these shows bothers me and that alone with my feelings about them that each of them doesn't appeal to me anymore and that's why I don't bother with CW Network Programming.
Sorry about my understanding of these shows ...

Wow, with all that happened last night I am wondering what they have in store for the season finale! Black Hood revealed, Jughead in peril, the fate of Fangs, Veronica and her mom...what a scene that was, Cheryl going all Arrow, Toni in danger, The Ghoulies, The Serpents, Mrs. Klump, Reggie, Mr. Weatherbee.....I need to watch this one again! Favorite lines: Veronica asking her parents if they were trying to turn Riverdale into Gotham City Kevin's lines about the hot dads coming to the rescue, haha!

Favorite lines: Veronica asking her parents if they were trying to turn Riverdale into Gotham City Kevin's lines about the hot dads coming to the rescue, haha! I agree this was an awesome episode. However it highlights my biggest criticism of the CW shows this season: the pacing. A third of the episodes were slow & boring & felt like filler. Then we get episodes like this where so much happens that it feels "rushed". I want better pacing. IMO this killed Supergirl for me this year. Flash suffers the least from this IMO because I feel something happens in each episode to move the story along. And Riverdale could have easily been a 16 episode season and been more interesting overall. I hope in Season 3 we see a lot less of Hiram Lodge.
Still wondering who the other Black Hood is since we found out who the original BH was.

After last week's episode (which felt more like a season finale) this week was more of wrap up....with a pretty awesome cliffhanger! I am tired of Hiram Lodge and all his machinations, although the gang he has assembled (Madame Blossom!) looks interesting. The Serpents are wearing thin for me. Loved seeing Josie sing the National Anthem! Overall, a good season although the parts with Hiram Lodge and the musical episode were my least favorite. I wonder what is going to happen with Mrs. Cooper. Polly seems like she is off kilter now....and that Hannibal Lechter style scene with Betty and her dad! Looks like Moose is moving on pretty quickly after Midge...or was that just grief? Good to see Cheryl in a better place too....wonder how long it will last. Liked seeing Josie's mom have things to do in the episode too and could we be seeing a Josie/Reggie relationship? They looked very chummy! Bring on season 3!

I was so disappointed that Hiram Lodge's plans weren't defeated. However I like how Veronica is standing up to him and I think her Mom is slowly coming around when she gave Veronica the info she needed in getting back Pop's. I hope next season we see Hermione wise up and start standing up to Hiram.

I liked the wrap up & set up for next season. All of the stuff @mrjupiter mentions above... good stuff. I am weary of Hiram Lodge and hope next season can focus less on him. I really feel instead of one season long story they should do two shorter story arcs. And I know it is TV but Jughead gets beaten almost to death & is fine in a few weeks?

I watched the season premier and although there were good parts, I was a bit underwhelmed. I am officially tired of the Serpents storyline and the supernatural scene with Betty's family at the end made me roll my eyes. However, I did enjoy the parts with Dilton and his ominous warnings, the scenes of Archie, Jughead, Betty, and Veronica driving to the swimming hole in the jalopy, and the courtroom scenes. Good to see Molly Ringwald too. I am glad that Reggie and Toni will be season regulars and hope to see them in good stories.

I also liked the scenes with the 4 main characters at the swimming hole and the jalopy. Even though I liked having Archie's Mom back I doubt she would have been allowed to be his lawyer. I'm not sure I am crazy with the cult that got Dilton killed. The scenes with Betty's family made sense to me since I think Betty was hallucinating most of it from the excess medications she has been taking.
I really want a different focus other than Hiram.

md62 totally agree about Archie's mom acting as his attorney. Also, since he is a minor I wonder if he could just blurt out that he'd take the deal and that would be accepted. I would think they would require his attorney to review this with him. Of course, I am no attorney. I guess it made for good drama, haha. Good point about Betty. Hope we find out more tonight!
