Episode 9:Archie & Jughead continue to be a stabilizing force for everyone around them. Archie and Jughead are my two favorite characters on that show without them ... there is no Riverdale.

The only really weak leak is Blossom's Family and I wished that they don't exploit it too much.
I wished that they don't exploit it too much and this family keeps me on my toes every time that I watch it and that's keeps it suspenseful and all that. My only wish that the writers don't get carried away with it. Blossom needs to be a secondary character of that show and I don't think it would be wise for Riverdale to have her on every show when possible. Her family keeps me on the edge of my seat - literally.

I loved last night's episode. So much happening! First, I loved Veronica and Ethel. I hope we see more Ethel on the show and that she will be recurring--and hang out with Betty and Veronica. The Blossoms--what a creepy family. Polly better stay on her toes. Even though I like Archie and Valerie together, I liked it when she told him off. The scene with Betty's mom throwing the rock was a riot! What I like about this show is how the plots weave all over the place and bring the characters together. Can't wait to find out who murdered Jason and I hope in season 2 we see more Reggie, Ethel, and Moose--and could we see Sabrina too?

could we see Sabrina too? Probably not next season. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa said the series will stay "grounded" for now but may move in a more "supernatural" direction similar to Buffy if it continues for several seasons.

Episode 10:
The gang plan a surprise birthday party for Jughead. Chuck Clayton returns to school having served his suspension. Veronica makes an enemy of Cheryl at cheerleading practice. Cheryl "teams up" with Chuck to ruin the party (for Jughead) at Archie's house. Fred Andrews goes away to meet Mary Andrews to finalize their divorce.
Cheryl & Chuck crash the party with most of Riverdale's teens tagging along. Of course the party gets out of control due to liberal amounts of alcohol. Secrets are revealed. Jughead's Dad ends up coming over to see Jughead & breaks up the party. Veronica spends the night with Archie. Jughead catches her sneaking out the next morning. Archie cleans up the mess. And his Dad returns home with...Archie's Mom.

Only 3 more episodes to go. With the return of Chuck it made things even more tense. He's still an arrogant jerk. The party was cool since Dilton & Ethel had some screen time. We need to have Moose & Reggie get some screen time. The plot lines are starting to all come together & more connections between the various characters were shown. Jughead's character gets more attention.
I like the line about Archie, Jughead & Betty being the 3 musketeers since they were the original 3 in the first Archie stories (Dec 1941-Mar 1942). Veronica & Reggie would show up later (Apr 1942). Jughead emphasizes this again later that Betty & Archie are his friends. He tolerates the others.

They are recasting Reggie next season due to the actor's other commitments. Or is the actor leaving the show because he is the murderer?
Also announced: the killer will be revealed in episode 12. Episode 13 will wrap up loose ends & set up season 2.
Mark Consuelos cast as Hiram Lodge.

I read an article about Reggie and the recasting. I was thinking Reggie would be revealed as the murderer and he would be leaving the show (and since many are speculating he will die in the upcoming Archie arc). The article I read indicated Reggie would have a bigger role in season 2 since he is Archie's rival. Maybe this is good news for the comics--that Reggie will make it out of the upcoming storyline alive?

We have to wait until mid July. Unlike DC & Marvel I don't think the TV show will influence the comics or vice versa.
As far as the comic Veronica is on the cover of #22. I suspect it is someone she is close to. In the New Riverdale her & Reggie aren't close.

Episode 11:
Veronica's mom tells Veronica that her father may be getting out of prison. Veronica wants to know if Hiram hired FP to kill Jason. Fred and Mary go to Homecoming together. FP tells Jughead that he will be moving to Toledo to reunite with Jughead's mom & sister. During Homecoming, the police search FP's trailer & find a gun. He is arrested for Jason's murder. Jughead runs away. However Archie & Veronica had already searched FP's trailer earlier & there was no gun. They realize someone is framing FP.
There were a lot of other moments that happened in this episode that set up the final two episodes. Next week the real murderer is supposed to be revealed.

I just don't like this at all ... and this and Jughead runs away doesn't look good at all. Bothers me a lot here.

I enjoyed the episode, especially the homecoming dance with Fred, Mary, and Hermione. Betty's mother continues to cause trouble and the Blossoms become even more creepy (the milkshakes!). Enjoyed seeing Archie and Veronica's rendition of Kids in America. Looking forward to seeing who the murderer is. I felt terrible for Jughead. Loved seeing Molly Ringwald and hope she sticks around!

I was surprised to see Molly Ringwald showing up on Riverdale. The next show - I'm dreading to watch and doesn't look good for Jughead.
