Casting for Superman... Ma and Pa Kent As much as I love those two as a couple, I would say Spencer Tracy and Myrna Loy. She was the ultimate wife/mother, thanks to Cheaper By the Dozen (and Bells on Their Toes) and Mr Blandings Builds His Dream House. Henry Fonda would make a good cinematic Pa Kent, too (not so much in real life, though).

The Casting of the Phantom StrangerTo me, he is my least favorite Justice Leaguer and I have to include him because many members here criticize me for not allowing him to be a Justice Leaguer and with that alone. I really do not know anything about him and I've simply cared less about this character because this character is never in my radar in the 40 years of reading comics. Just by looking at the Comic Book Picture that I provided on top of Stewart Granger and I was thinking about Stewart Granger what he has done in his career and I felt that he would make an excellent Phantom Stranger because I consider his build and all that. If anyone of you have a better idea than Stewart Granger - I'm all ears and to me, I like Stewart Granger a lot and most importantly that he is a very skilled and seasoned actor to pull off this role. To be honest - I really did not read any of his stories and I was hoping that one of my favorite actor by the name of Stewart Granger who co-starred with Rita Hayworth in Salome and his role as Scaramouche in 1952 to be in this movie. Sorry about the ramblings and I just wanted to get this casting done with.

Since you don't know the Phantom Stranger character, let me give you a better idea of it. Remember the movie "East of Eden" with James Dean? Use that personality and age it until he is in his mid-50's. Basically, the character represents conscience, but with a dark unknown past which leaves him anywhere from tortured to melancholy, depending on the writer.

You've just jarred my Memory Rick, and I did not think of that because I have a friend of mine at the Comic Book Store and he told me that James Dean would make an excellent Phantom Stranger if he was aged. Good catch here and thanks for pointing that out. Thanks for pointing that out ...

How about Peter Cushing as Jonathan Crane/The Scarecrow?
Both are Masters of Terror, both have experience as learned educators, and I think Cushing already has the look and precise and perfunctory voice down perfectly.

Since a few of us have touched upon the serials, can I also suggest William Austin as Alfred Pennyworth? Interestingly, Alfred was likely created for the 1943 Batman serial even though early issues of the comics depicted him as clean shaven, overweight, and balder since Don Cameron/Bob Kane probably didn't know how the character was going to look when he made his screen debut. Eventually however, it was Austin who was used as the eventual and current model.

Injustice League - ModifiedI've made some modifications to this group in the past 24 hours and I was thinking about doing an Injustice League of America with Queen Bee as it's leader and I would have the movie broken up in two parts of where the JLA is focusing on Lex Luthor and the Joker with Harley in a cameo role. I would had done that; since the Cat is out of the Bag, I would have Poison Ivy in this group that starred Rita Hayworth and Cyd Charisse as Star Sapphire. Injustice League MembersRita Hayworth as Poison Ivy - She replaces Harpy, and I've thought it would be interesting to see Black (Gardner) Canary to take her on. Cyd Charisse as Star Sapphire - She replaces Sinestro, and I prefer a sizzling Charisse and Redford mix in this movie. Now, the Leader of the Injustice League - Queen Bee!

Injustice League Leader Queen BeeEleanor Parker as Queen BeeThe dazzling co-star of Stewart Granger in this great movie back in 1952 that co-starred with Eleanor Parker and I wanted her so bad in this movie and I would have this movie in Technicolor and imagine both Rita Hayworth and Eleanor Parker in one movie - two dazzling redheads will spice things up and I felt that Eleanor Parker will pull off the villainy of Queen Bee quite nicely and with Maureen O'Hara as Hawkgirl in this movie - Moviegoers will have a Triple Delight seeing three gorgeous Redheads in this powerhouse movie back in 1946/47 timeframe. Eleanor Parker is one of my favorite actress and I almost cast her as Hawkgirl and I felt that she wasn't savvy enough to handle that role; and that role went to O'Hara instead of whom is a better choice after all. She's amazing actress and commands Star Power as well and there is no better candidate to play Queen Bee in this movie and I wanted my version of the Injustice League of America to combat the JLA. It's a no-brainer here and she's a Technicolor Delight just as Rita and Maureen here. More coming your way!

Peter Cushing for MerlynNote: Peter Cushing will have two roles in this Movie and I was looking at this picture the other day in the Internet (see below) and he is a dead-ringer for him. If Peter Sellers can do 3 roles in Dr. Strangelove - why not have Peter Cushing to do 2 roles in this JLA Movie! All you have to do is put on a fake stylish goatee and you got this villain hands down!
