I thought there might be a connection when Thomas took over WC Avengers , or even a crossover event that might tie him in with Byrne. It's also possible that they missed each other when they switched companies various times.

I searched in Mikes Amazing world and found that Byrne and Thomas worked on the same book. Heroes Against Hunger #1.  I'm cheating a bit because they both worked on different segments. The book was a charity jam book with various creators donating their talents to fight hunger in Africa. Thomas scripted a few pages and Byrne inked a few pages. |

There are also three issues of The Marvel Saga that have some pages scripted by Roy and some other pages drawn by John, but those pages are all reprints.

I don't think Byrne and Thomas get along together. Byrne once accused Thomas of sending an artist, maybe Carmine Infantino, a copy of a Conan paperback instead of a plot for an issue of Conan the Barbarian, and Thomas threatened legal action unless Byrne retracted his words.
