Did anyone else see The Titans ?
I saw the first episode last night and thought it was pretty good.
I don't mind the actress who's playing Starfire, but seriously, couldn't they at least make her hair length correct (down to her rump) ?
Would that have been that hard ?

I am going to break down and buy a Roku so I can watch (would rather watch on TV rather than phone or laptop), haha! I did read that unlike Netlfix, the episodes are released weekly instead of all at once? I do want to see Titans, but I am becoming more interested in the upcoming Doom Patrol series.

Pleasantly surprised by Titans, and really wanting to see Swamp Thing and Doom Patrol.

Saw the second episode which had Hawk & Dove, characters I can't stand (sorry Steve Ditko).
Still amazingly liked the episode. I'm looking forward to more.
BTW, Rotten Tomatoes gives it an 84.

Episode 4 shows a Titans connection by having Beast Boy of the Doom Patrol introduce the DP : Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Girl, a woman that will probably turn out to be another DP member and an Easter egg wink wink to another member, and The Chief.
It was very well done.
Any Doom Patrol fans, I'd be interested in hearing what you thought of it.

Just saw the latest episode with Jason Todd, Dick's Robin successor, and it was very, very good.

I kinda forgot about it... It's really not the best for these people to be all using their own services...personally, I just don't have the ambition to keep track of them all. Glad it's good though, I'm sure I'll watch it at some point  |

This is DC's marquee original content show and they've done a really good job with it.
Looking forward to the rest coming up : Doom Patrol, Swamp Thing and Harley Quinn.
Also enjoying reading the 90's James Robinson Starman that I'd only read haphazardly before; a little dated but still enjoyable.

Ive been bingeing on this TITANS show over the last day or so. 5 episodes in and loving it.
Im not a huge fan of the other super shows(Arrow, Flash etc) but this seems to have a slightly higher target audience, it seems to be a bit more real.
Im liking the slow introduction of characters, what theyve done with who they have so far, and the willingness to use of the wider DC universe with the inclusion of the Doom Patrol, Alfred, namedropping Batman etc.
Overall Im VERY surprised (and pleased) by the quality of this show.

I received an email today advising I can get DC Universe for $59 for the year....too good to pass up, but I'll have to get a Roku too. Oh well! Seems like I am missing some fun stuff, especially with the casting announcement of Lou Ferrigno Jr as Hourman on Stargirl!

I bought my Roku this weekend and after a bit of hassle, got it going! I didn't have much time to really play around with the DC Universe channel, but I did watch an episode of Super Friends and the first episode of Titans. Kind of difficult to navigate around, but I will get used to it. Looks like some cool stuff there. Was happy to see all the seasons of Lois and Clark on there.
Are those comics you can read on there too? It looked like that, but I didn't get to play around much. So far, so good!
As for Titans....I actually enjoyed the first episode. Raven didn't annoy me as much as I thought she would and I really like Starfire. Dick Grayson certainly doesn't need Batman here!
One thing I noticed about the Roku....it got really hot. Is that normal?

One thing I noticed about the Roku....it got really hot. Is that normal? I have friends in the States -- here that has Roku and they do get hot at times and that's prompts them to return it after a certain number of days. About 40 percent of my friends that has Roku ... they just find it too warm after a while and they don't like the navigation of it. I had one friend and he and I was watching old Superfriends Cartoons and watch 3 Full Shows and the machine got hot and he shut it down. After using it for a few times ... he and his wife were disappointed that they can't get a full hour without getting it hot. After that, incident and he had another friend who is a Roku expert and he came over to investigate and he told him that you set it up correctly and he and him watched some shows and the machine got very warm after 45 minutes and he having some problems too. {My Thoughts on Roku}I don't have Netflix at all and I like to keep my life simple and unfretted ... and most of my friends here do not care for Roku. I've been reading this thread ... wanted to throw my 2 cents worth and declared Roku not worthy of investing.
Both of them ... no longer have Roku and they complained bitterly to the company that supplied them. |
