10 Ch'p -- One of the neatest Green Lantern For me alone, he got his start on the Green Lantern Corps #203 -- see issue below: When, I've think of him -- I see him being very unappreciated and not that quite supported enough as this link clearly states his role as a Green Lantern. I felt that Daniel Walker and I agree each other and most importantly his understanding of Ch'p is spot on and relevant to me. His first villain that he defeated as a member of the Green Lantern Corps was Doctor Ub'x -- See Picture Below: Of which he succeeded and took a hard time doing so. I felt that he really took a hard knock against him and took his responsibility very seriously and that's why I felt that he was unappreciated at first; of which it's made him feel very inadequate and bear the burden of being a Green Lantern. Ch'p went on to become the Green Lantern of sector 1014, and became good friends with Jordan, Mogo, Salaak and other members of the Green Lantern Corps. Ch'p maintained a secret identity on H'lven until he married his longtime girlfriend M'nn'e. While not serving the Guardians on Oa, Ch'p defended H'lven from various threats, many of them engineered by his old nemesis Doctor Ub'x. After the Crisis is over -- he's became friend of Doctor Ub'x of which it was a surprise to me because they reconciled each other and became friends and that's took an unexpected turn and their connections of each other was genuine and upstanding too. More on Saturday on Ch'p and I need more time to think about it. Another great picture of Ch'p!

More info on Ch'p!Ch'p's experiences on Earth were so negative, such as his shocked realization that his Earthly counterparts were non-sapient animals, so he eventually returned to H'lven to start all over again. When his power battery on Oa was destroyed following the execution of Sinestro, Ch'p's ring was one of the few that still functioned. The strain of living on a world where nobody remembered him led to depression and a suicide attempt that was halted by his fellow Green Lantern, Salaak of who he trusted so much. Salaak and Ch'p were great friends. The two friends later travelled to Oa to participate in the reconstruction of the Green Lantern Corps. Ch'p was assigned to patrol Oa, specifically the makeshift city called Mosaic World. Green Lantern Mosaic #118 Issues altogether -- it should had ran lot longer ... Very Popular Book and Sales were excellent. It's ran for 18 issues and it was featured John Stewart, Ch'p, and others and it was an excellent book and I was sad to see it cancelled after 18 issues and many fans like myself was very disappointed in the decision making of DC Comics at the time that was cancelled. From Wikipedia in ItalicIn an unusual move, and although sales of the book were very strong, Green Lantern: Mosaic was cancelled early into its run. In an interview, Cully Hamner revealed the reasons behind the cancellation:(A)s I was told at the time, it didn’t fit with DC editorial vision (whatever that means). Sales didn’t matter, fan support didn’t matter; the first issue sold about 210,000 copies and my last issue sold about 70,000, so there was plenty of support for the book. It was marked for cancellation when issue #5 came out, and they allowed Gerry Jones a year to wrap it up, but there was no doubt that it was being cancelled because somebody upstairs just didn’t care for it. So, I had a feeling after a while of creatively being against a brick wall, and got out before the end. You pay your money, you takes your chances. That’s the biz.Ch'p has appeared in numerous ways since his death. He is shown in an Alex Ross painting of the Green Lantern Corps; and in one of the last Kyle Rayner Green Lantern stories. Ch'p by Alex Ross He appeared in Duck Dodgers - Green Loontern Show! Evolution of Ch'p in various cartoons! My grade of Ch'p is a B Plus!Next up is Katma Tui ...

Haha. These are great write-ups MechaGodzilla. Do a write up for Duck Dodgers as a Green Lantern. That would be cool. Katma Tui is coming sometimes during the day on Monday (6/25) and I'll to put together a short summary on Duck Dodgers -- I'm somewhat familiar with this cartoon character; but I wasn't planning on doing him at all. However, since you made a request -- I'll put something together after I do Katma Tui. Katma Tui -- is 9th of my list and I'm working down to Number 1 on my Green Lantern General Thoughts list. So, I'll put something together after I do her and proceed from there. Thanks for your nice comments and I'm happy that you are enjoying it.

Katma Tui - 9th on the list She made her first appearance in DC Comics' Green Lantern vol. 2 #30 (July 1964) Katma Tui hails from the planet Korugar -- the same planet that Sinestro, hailed from and having said that -- it was Sinestro that enslaved the planet that Katma Tui is from and it was her that lead the revolt and was instrumental in doing so and got Sinestro banned from that planet and was punished by the Guardians of the Universe and became an renegade Green Lantern and eventually a Yellow Lantern that was the primarily the focus point of all hatred of the Green Lantern and notably Hal (Green Lantern) Jordan and others -- including our own Katma Tui. It was a struggle for her to deposed him and knowing that it was ultimately led to Green Lantern Tomar-Re to select her to replace Sinestro in (Green Lantern of) Sector 1417 of the known universe. When she heard this, she accepted it and the Guardians of OA recognized Tomar-Re's assessment of her ability to be a valued Green Lantern and she accepts it with open arms. That's how she became a Green Lantern. She is friends with John Stewart, Kilowog, Tomar-Re, and others -- she is somewhat critical (matter of fact -- was mad) of Hal Jordan and some of the Green Lantern got upset when Hal resigns one time so that he can spend more time with Carol (Star Sapphire) Ferris and that's bother a lot of Green Lanterns and she had some romantic motions (not the right word) with John Stewart and eventually she did the right thing asking the blessings of the Guardians and they ended up marrying each other and proceed from there. She later became friends with Ch'p and Arisia -- boy, this is something that she was very friendly towards both of them more so to Arisia of whom that I don't know that well. Arisia - Green Lantern Because of her -- she was eventually was killed by Star Sapphire and she (Star Sapphire) did this to make a statement to Hal Jordan and that's why she (Katma Tui) was critical of. To be, honest -- she never, ever was friendly with Hal Jordan -- if you disagree with me -- that's fine with me and let's not debate it because I don't want to have an argument about it. Then, later on -- she and Hal kind of reconnected and because of her and Hal's maturity and all that in talking to my dear friends she misses John Stewart and Hal told her so and I felt that she and Hal talked about this in great length. To clarify that, I don't recall the times that John Stewart and her having martial problems and I felt that this bothers me that -- that I don't remember anything about this at all. I wished someone here -- can help me out in this -- pertaining the relationship of Tui and Stewart's relationship and marriage. She is a resourceful Green Lantern, and made many friends and very supportive in the Guardians and having said that she is willing to bury past histories by amending the facts and was very loyal to all Green Lanterns and most of all -- she is a capable and all that. Final Grade - A very solid B+ -- better than Ch'p!

I was going to do a short segment on Duck Dodgers -- Green Loontern for a member here and gave that member a good explanation why I can't do it. So, 24 hours went by and I've need to move on. I just can't do it because none of the videos on You Tube has closed captioning and it would be impossible to do a review on it due to my handicap of not hearing too good.
I'm going to do Tomar Re Green Lantern sometimes this weekend and with stuff that I have to do with my club -- this is going to be longer than I've think. I'll be surprised to get this done by end of July and might takes me into August to get this done. I'm taking my time and doing it right.

8th Tomar Re Green Lantern I'll do a more extensive research of this character either on Saturday and/or Sunday -- this is a start and I'm going to introduced the 1st appearance of this character and I was happy to find some pictures for this post alone. He was introduced in Green Lantern #6 Green Lantern learns of the existence of the Guardians of the Universe in issue 6 (May/June 1961) of his book. The story also introduces us to Tomar-Re, a Green Lantern from the planet Xudar. He is dealing with a rampaging beast on his own world, but is also needed on a different planet, a world where everyone is in suspended animation, and live as eternal thought projections. Something has gone wrong, and their lives are in danger. Tomar-Re contacts Hal Jordan, and explains a little about the Green Lantern Corps. Not a lot is revealed, and much of what is would change over time. The world the Guardians inhabit is not named, and Tomar-Re states that no one knows where it is. Tomar-Re is only allowed to know of a handful of other Green Lanterns, such as Hal, that he can contact in emergencies. So Hal heads off to the world of living phantoms. The thought projections have turned on their bodies, and want to destroy them. They created a gravity machine to give themselves density. Hal has to create thought projections of himself in order to function with the gravity machine on, but destroys it and determines that it was a couple in love, in suspended animation, whose emotions screwed up the machines. They are allowed to live as actual people. Then Hal zooms off to Xudar and helps Tomar-Re against his beastie before returning to Earth. The conclusion has a nice bit. Hal had to ditch a date with Carol Ferris when Tomar-Re called on him, and Carol lies, claiming that she went out with Green Lantern instead. Hal figures since Carol is lying to make him jealous, she must really care. Tomar-Re returns in a couple of months. More later on ... Stay Tuned.

Tomar Re -- General CommentsOne of the oldest and most respected Green Lantern and was instrumental in discovering that Sinestro was abusing his power and not holding up the standards of the Guardians of the Universe. He investigated reports of abuses of power by Sinestro of Korugar; of which did quite well and that's serve him very respectable and held high regards of his service to the Guardians. Tomar-Re was a Xudarian, a race of aliens from the planet Xudar in Sector 2813. He was a scientist on his homeworld before joining the Green Lantern Corps and becoming the Green Lantern of Sector 2813. He is quite intelligent and very resourceful one indeed. Tomar-Re became a pivotal member of the Corps, training new members, like Arisia, and serving in the Honor Guard. He was close friends with Abin Sur, Green Lantern of neighboring sector 2814. He was also the first Lantern to meet Sur's replacement, Hal Jordan, and the two got along equally well. From Wikipedia
Tomar's most famous mission while serving in the Corps dealt with the planet Krypton. Krypton, a planet in sector 2813, was growing increasingly unstable. It was due to explode, caused by internal pressures deep inside the planet's core. Tomar-Re sought to use a rare compound called stellarium to absorb some of the tectonic pressure, thus saving the Kryptonians. He gathered the compound, and was en route to Krypton when a yellow solar flare blinded him, and forced him to drop the stellarium. He quickly recovered, but discovered he was blind. He gathered what little stellarium he could without his sight, and proceeded towards Krypton. He was closing in when his vision started to clear. The first thing he saw upon his sight returning was Krypton exploding. The Guardians recovered Tomar and brought him back to Oa, where he healed and rested. From this statement -- he had some Superman's connections ... He grew to be an honored senior member of the Green Lantern Corps, but his later career was not without cost and deviation to the cause. His most difficult moment was during the Nekron crisis when the death god used the spirit of Tomar-Re's deceased father to attempt to sway this particular Green Lantern to surrender. Although tempted ... Tomar kept to his oath and destroyed his father's spirit to continue the battle, much to his personal anguish and remembered his duty to the Corps. It was the most hardest decision in his life. He even had a son, that became a Green Lantern and that's what I've learned the other day from friends that I go to at my LCS -- his name is Tomar-Tu, that through Hal's blessing that will follow his father's footsteps as a member of the Green Lantern by getting his own ring and acceptance through the Guardians of the Universe. Tomar-Tu, the Son of Tomar Re Next Up -- Kilowog!

@mechagodzilla I have been following this thread & really enjoying it. It appears that you have done a lot of research & I am learning some new things about the lesser known GLC members. Great write-ups that are very informative.
You have reached a point where you are getting around to my favorite GL's.

dbutler69 -- According to a couple of friends that knows about Arisia, that Arisia had feelings for Hal and because of that I felt that she "sort of" having a crush on Hal at one point during their existence but she in my own judgment was a bit too young for Hal. One of them said to me -- remember the James Bond Movie of where he meets Bibi and that alone -- I felt that Arisia and Hal had that moment but Arisia was a more mature and seasoned. I don't know much about Arisia because she quite different and very lovely lady and then some.
