Number 8 - Supergirl Alter Ego - Kara Zor-El ... a.k.a Linda Lee Danvers Team Affiliations - Justice League of America, Legion of Super Heroes, and Teen Titans. Created by - Otto Binder Illustrated by - Al Plastino Abilities Superhuman strength, speed & stamina, various extra sensory and vision powers, invulnerability, flight, etc. Interesting Fact - Reaction at the DC Comics offices to Supergirl's first appearance was tremendous, with thousands of positive letters-of-comment pouring in. Reason for Rank: As a kid from 7 to 14 - I couldn't get enough Supergirl in my system and having said that she's basically an All-American Girl with Superpowers that just knocks your socks off. The costume above you is my favorite rendering of Supergirl. She's smart, loyal, and most of all a winner in my books!

Number 7 - Black CanaryAlter Ego - Dinah Laurel Lance Team Affiliations - Justice Society of America, Birds of Prey, and Justice League of America Created by - Robert Kanigher Illustrated by - Carmine InfantinoAbilities Expert in hand-to-hand combat, "Canary Cry", an ultrasonic scream; peak level of athleticism; exceptional martial artist, expert motorcycle rider Interesting Fact - DC Comics later adjusted its continuity to explain that Black Canary was in fact two characters, mother and daughter Dinah Drake and Dinah Laurel Lance, with stories since the Silver Age primarily focusing on the younger Black Canary and ascribing her superhuman abilities to a genetic mutation. Personal Note on Interesting Fact - I get confused sometimes when a Black Canary appears in certain DC Comics Issues - is this the Mother involved and/or Daughter? Interesting Fact 2 - Once married to Green Arrow - Oliver Queen. Reason for Rank: All American Girl Looks, California Girls "Beach Boys", Fearless, Motorcycle Driven, Street Smarts, and All Around Crime Fighter. I just loved her style of clothing, practical and dead on looking good.

Number 6 - Doctor Fate - Kent NelsonAlter Ego - Kent Nelson Team Affiliations - Justice Society of America, All Star Squadron, Lords of Order Created by - Gardner Fox Illustrated by - Howard Sherman Abilities Doctor Fate possesses a variety of different mystical powers. Generally, even without wearing the Helmet of Nabu, the host can fly, has resistance to harm, has minor telekinesis, and has greater-than-human strength. At his most powerful, Doctor Fate is an accomplished sorcerer, able to rival most other wizards in the DC universe. Doctor Fate has been seen firing bolts of mystical energy, teleporting across the universe, creating solid objects out of energy and transforming objects into other kinds of mater. The full limits of his magical skills are not known and his abilities have varied greatly from one appearance to the next depending on the needs of the story. Helmet of NabuThe helmet that Doctor Fate wears focuses the Doctor Fate identity. It was originally used to house Nabu's spirit and allowed him possession of the host, later only allowed him to advise the host instead. The helmet is what provides the link to Nabu and by not wearing it, as Kent Nelson did at one time, Doctor Fate loses much of its power and knowledge. Amulet of AnubisThe circular device on the collar worn around Doctor Fate's chest and shoulders is the Amulet of Anubis, which gives it's bearer vast magical abilities. The amulet houses the souls of many who have worn the vestments of Fate. In JSA, the amulet contained the image of a farmhouse with the souls of Kent and Inza Nelson, Eric and Linda Strauss, Jared Stevens and Kid Eternity inhabiting it. This dimension has been used as a refuge for the Justice Society Of America to regroup in battle or access the advice of the previous Doctor Fates. Mordru was imprisoned in the amulet for some time. Cloak of DestinyThe Cloak of Destiny is one of the vestments of Fate, worn by those who assume the role of Doctor Fate. The Cloak of Destiny may endow its wearer with any or all of the following abilities, based on Kent Nelson's retention of these abilities when he did not possess the Helmet of Fate in the 1940's. The cloak is designed to give him Flight, Near-invulnerbility, and Superhuman strength. Interesting Fact - Kent enlists in the U.S. Army and serves as a Paratrooper during World War II. He resigns from the JSA in 1944 and becomes an archaeologist. Reason for Rank: One of my favorite Justice Society Member of All-Time - his costume makes alone striking, bold, fearless, and one of the most powerful mystic of all time - his powers alone makes me think twice about him. Intelligent, Resourceful, and has great Leadership Abilities too. He's deserved to be Number 6.

Number 5 - Captain Marvel "Shazam"Alter Ego - William Joseph "Billy" Batson Team Affiliations - Marvel Family, Justice League of America, Justice Society of America, and the Squadron of Justice. Created by - C. C. Beck Illustrated by - Bill Parker Abilities Magical lightning bestows: Superhuman strength, speed, stamina and courage, Physical and magical near-invulnerability, Flight, Genius-level intellect, and Control over and emission of magic lightning as weapon or for casting spells Interesting Fact - CM1 is his nickname. In order to transform into Captain Marvel, Billy must speak the wizard's name, an acronym for the six legendary figures who agreed to grant aspects of themselves to a willing subject: the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles, and the speed of Mercury. Speaking the word produces a bolt of magic lightning which transforms Billy into Captain Marvel. Speaking the word again reverses the transformation with another bolt of lightning. Reason for Rank: One of the most quintessential superhero of all time combining all the traits of a Superhero wants - Flight, Superhuman Strength, Power, Courage, and Might. To me, one of the ultimate Superhero ever and most of all one of the classiest Superhero ever. I dig his white cape with golden trim that alone makes him unique. He deserved to be ranked number 5.

Number 4 - Wonder WomanAlter Ego - Princess Diana of Themyscira / Diana Prince Team Affiliations - Justice League of America and Justice Society of America Created by - William Moulton Marston Illustrated by - Various Artists Abilities Super strength, speed, agility, reflexes, senses, stamina, and endurance, Flight (1960–present), Superior hand-to-hand combatant, Healing factor, Magical Weaponry including indestructible bracelets, the Lasso of Truth, a weaponized tiara, and a magical sword. Interesting Fact - At that time, Marston decided to develop a new superhero; Marston's wife Elizabeth suggested he create a female superheroine: William Moulton Marston, a psychologist already famous for inventing the polygraph (forerunner to the magic lasso), struck upon an idea for a new kind of superhero, one who would triumph not with fists or firepower, but with love. "Fine," said Elizabeth. "But make her a woman." Interesting Fact 2 - Her Mother Queen Hippolyta is a fictional character and DC Comics superhero, based on Hippolyta, queen of the Amazons in Greek mythology. She is also the mother of Wonder Woman and Donna Troy was the original Wonder Woman. Reason for Rank: One of the Powerhouses of the DC Comics World - and one of the original members of the Justice League of America and she stands tall in the world of Superheroines as a pioneer in her own rights. I adore her from the day I first read her as a kid and she embodied all the right qualities in a female superhero that adore and the rights to be the Number One Female Superhero in DC COMICS history. There is nobody better than her and rightly so.

Number 3 - Batman Alter Ego - Bruce Wayne Team Affiliations - Justice League of America, Batman and the Outsiders, and Batman Family as well. Created by - Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger Illustrated by - Bob Kane Abilities Genius-level intellect, Peak physical and mental conditioning, Master martial artist, acrobat, detective, escapologist, strategist, swordsman, tactician, and marksman. Use of high-tech equipment, weapons, armors, & gadgets, Master of stealth, Master of disguise, Advanced scientific and technological proficiency, Excellent observational skills, Access to vast wealth and criminal records, Trained computer hacker, and Photographic memory. Interesting Fact - As an aristocratic hero with a double identity, the Bat-Man had predecessors in the Scarlet Pimpernel (created by Baroness Emmuska Orczy, 1903) and Zorro (created by Johnston McCulley, 1919). Like them, he performed his heroic deeds in secret, averted suspicion by playing the fool in public, and marked his work with a signature symbol. Kane specifically noted the influence of the films The Mark of Zorro (1920) and The Bat Whispers (1930) in the creation of the character's iconography. Finger, drawing inspiration from pulp heroes like Doc Savage, The Shadow, Dick Tracy and Sherlock Holmes, made the character a master sleuth. Interesting Fact 2 - The bat wing like cape was suggested by Bob Kane; who was inspired by seeing Leonardo Da Vinci's sketch of an ornithopter flying device as a child. Reason for Rank: Brilliant in Every Way shape and form, the master of his craft - one of the most intellectual Superhero in DC COMICS history. He uses his vast wealth to create the Batcave, his fantastic equipment - the Batmobile, Bat-Copter, Bat-Boat, Bat-Cycle, and vast array of Computer, Chemical Laboratory, to aid him to fight crime as the foremost Crimefighter of Gotham City.

Number 2 - Green Lantern - Hal JordanAlter Ego - Hal Jordan Team Affiliations - Justice League of America, Green Lantern Corps Created by - John Broome Illustrated by - Gil Kane Abilities As a Green Lantern, Jordan is semi-invulnerable, capable of projecting hard light constructions, flight, and utilizing various other abilities through his power ring which are only limited by his imagination and willpower. Jordan, as a Green Lantern, has exceptional willpower. Interesting Fact - DC Comics Editor Julius Schwartz wanted this new character to have a different secret identity, origin, and personality than his 1940s counterpart. A long time science-fiction fan and literary agent, Schwartz wanted a more sci-fi based Green Lantern, as opposed to the mystical powers of Alan Scott, the original 1940s Green Lantern. Reason for Rank: One of the greatest Silver Age Superhero that I can think of; I just admire his costume design, his great imagination and willpower. There is no one else like him and I just can't get enough of him in the 60's, 70's, and the 80's of which he was the King of Green Lanterns. He's deserved to be Number 2 in my book.
