What's got me scratching my head the most on this one is how the heck it's going to end. How do we get back to regular old Loki in Infinity War and Endgame after this? Also, it wasn't Sylvie committing all the murders that first prompted the investigation, right? Her going through time to murder, be worshipped as a devil, and give a kid a candybar really doesn't fit what we know about her. So maybe whoever created the TVA did so to cover their own tracks? Yes, this might be my favorite Marvel show of the three.

We don't really need to get regular Loki back, do we? I mean, it could just be a branch in the timeline.

Well, something has to be the inciting incident for the fracturing of the multiverse for both the next Spider-Man and Doctor Strange movies, and a unpruned timeline with a variant Loki running around could serve that purpose.

Wow.
This newest episode officially makes Loki better than most Marvel films. Forget the scenery, special effects, and even the amazing lovable band of (anti)heroes assembled this time around. Beyond all of that, this just might be the greatest love story ever told in any Marvel Universe.
Obviously, the full work can't be judged until seen in its entirety, but I'm blown away at this point, and I'm not blown away easily.

I thought they’d be hard pressed to top the last episode, but they crushed it. The Easter eggs were fun without being distracting. And the chemistry between Huddleston and Sophia di Martino is incredible.

And the chemistry between Huddleston and Sophia di Martino is incredible. As is the entire utterly unique idea of being in love with yourself. It both speaks to Loki's narcissism and offers a more believable form of redemption than the typical movie romance -- loving Sylvie helps Loki to love and believe in himself, offering the very kind of redemption the TVA has been trying to deny him and all Lokis (whenever they succeed at life, they are wiped from existence). The applications to real life and to ourselves is utterly profound: the bureaucracy wants to keep you down at all costs, and only the kind of love that inspires you to love yourself can save you.
Damn.

Great episode. I was afraid this was going to be another slow one similar to episode 3, but I was wrong. I ended up liking the other Loki variants more than I thought I would, and they were on screen for about as much as they needed to be. Richard E. Grant was in particular good to watch perform. The Alioth cloud menace is another hint towards the direction of Kang, and at this point if he's not at least referenced by the end I'll be disappointed. They put a lot of easter eggs in here. Didn't notice the statue head of The Living Tribunal the first time around. Rob from Comics Explained had a really good theory about who is probably in the castle at the end, and I'd agree. Probably Loki as a condensed version of Immortus that was able to take control of the TVA, axe the time keepers, and reign supreme at the end of time. I still hope that leads to Kang, and we don't just end on that note. The show is setting up a big finish, and I pray it sticks the landing unlike Falcon/Winter Soldier did.

I pretty much agree with the general sentiment that this episode was amazing, and that this show is at least at the same quality standard if not better than a lot of the MCU movies. WV was unique enough to be its own thing. I liked FATWS but it felt like a Marvel cable TV show instead of part of the MCU proper. Loki feels like part of the MCU proper. I am a bit nervous now with Shax's point that {Spoiler: Click to show}if the show is about teaching Loki to love himself, that doesn't bode well for Sylvie's mortality prospects. Then again, she is such an interesting character, I hope Marvel wouldn't axe her so quickly. Very curious to see how they end and it and how it feeds into the next slate of MCU movies.

I think the true villain who created all this is also a Loki and that, in order to defeat him, they'll have to merge all the Lokis or erase all the variants or something so that we
1. Get a resolution to the story 2. Get a touching final moment with these two characters we've come to love, and 3. Get regular old Loki back for the upcoming MCU films

Throne is empty, leaving a bit question mark, and considering this show is getting a season 2 if I recall, that would not shock me

I'd come to see these shows as bridges between theatrical releases in the age of Covid.

The self love angle is definitely fantastic and its implications on the finale could lead to some really interesting storytelling.
But what do I really want more of after seeing this episode?( I almost said issue, which I think speaks to how well this show is delivering that comic book "feel")
I want more alligator Loki!
