This looks fantastic, as do the trailers for Falcon/Winter Soldier and Wandavision.
Really wish these had been ready for the Disney+ rollout, as just having The Mandalorian as new content aimed at someone like me has been a little disappointing, but if the actual series deliver on the promise of the trailers, I'm going to be more than willing to forgive that.

First episode was a lot of fun. I'm thinking this will be best of MCU TV series. Can't wait till next episode drops!

I thought the first episode was pretty fun I didn't think we'd get Loki hunting Loki

I'm concerned the time travel is going to make my head hurt (as it usually does), but the on screen chemistry between Hiddleston and Wilson was amazing.... I think it should be entertaining at least.

Am I the only one who had to keep adjusting my TV's picture settings to be able to see anything on the screen? It was such a visually dark show, and my living room TV just could not keep up. Definitely inhibited our enjoyment a bit.

Definitely inhibited our enjoyment a bit. I didn't have that problem, but I was constantly fiddling with the volume. Turn up for dialogue. Turn way down for music and special effects. Rinse and repeat.

Daughters and I really enjoyed this. Tom Hiddleston is eminently watchable (my older girl likes him A LOT, as I imagine a lot of mid-teen girls do) and Owen Wilson, who I've always considered pretty lightweight, held his own.
My wife, OTOH, isn't sold on it, because she HATES time travel with a passion. She did feel justified, however, by the Miss Minutes video, which she felt absolutely summed up the problems with time travel stories. I think she'll give next week's episode a watch, but if this gets too screwy with timelines and jumping around, I bet she's out.

You wife is very wise. I've with the Vulcan science directorate on time travel (though they seem to have retconned that that don't believe it exists anymore)
I'll stick with it for the easter eggs and such, but I'm sure it's going to hurt my head.

The first episode was incredibly interesting. I'm very curious to see where it goes, hopefully it isn't all over the place quality wise like Falcon & Winter Soldier was

I think what I'm enjoying most about it right now is its arthouse feel, especially the original score. That being said, I think I enjoyed the end credits a lot more than the episode itself, as the director was more free to be expressive and unchained by a linear plot there. And putting Hiddleton and Owen Wilson in a room together to talk out Loki's motivations for most of the episode felt a little too labored, even if it was an excellent read on the character.
By the way, does this time agency have its origins in the comics? I'm guessing it's something from after my time.

I know the TVA was originally conceived by Walt Simonson during his 80s Thor run and the Wilson character, Mobius M. Mobius, first appeared during Simonson's run on FF in the early 90s (everyone dig out FF #353 if you have it, and maybe cash in if you're not attached, it's selling for ridiculous $ on eBay now). No idea how they were subsequently used. I liked the first ep quite a bit. A character study of Loki mixed with multiple realitiy hijinks seems fun

I had a pile of Thor issues in my cull pile and was checking to see if I should hang on to any before selling them off-I didn't have any of the TVA stuff bummer). But there are plenty of "comic-experts" on youtube who will give you a laundry list of all the issues that the elements of Loki first appeared in for their spec channel content. -M

I sold Thor 372 (first TVA) a few months back to a speculator for $15 CAD in a bulk sale where I also sold him FF 253. I knew he was flipping these books so I wondered what was so special about FF 253. A check on eBay confirmed it was just a run of the mill book. A few weeks later when looking at Loki spec books on Key Collector I saw FF 353 was now a key, so I realized THAT was the book he thought he was getting from me. Kids, remember to double check those issue numbers when speculating on a title you are not familiar with!
