For me it’s probably a toss-up between Thor: theDark World and Captain Marvel. Both have some good moments though. Since Thor is one of my favorite comic characters and I really liked the mcu version in the previous movies, I’ll say TDW was slightly better and go with CM as my least favorite.
I thought Brie was fine but I was never much of a fan of Carol taking on the mantle in the comics, which probably biased me against the movie from the beginning.
Furthermore I really am not a fan of the plot of CM hingjng on Carol not realizing she’s a human who’s been brainwashed since it is so evident early on and there’s just little tension to this “mystery” as a result.
I’m also not a huge fan of going backwards in the mcu, which to some extent both this movie and black widow suffered from imo.
But again, the movie does have its good points and of course being the 1st female-led mcu movie is quite significant (should’ve been BW much much sooner but whatever)...just wish it were better
Eternals will probably be among my least favorite but I’ll give it some time. Certainly it had was “different” and introduced more interesting concepts than TDW and CM imo

I watched Black Widow last night.... Its definitely a contender. It wasn't BAD exactly just boring and rather pointless. This was not a story that needed to be told.. really an extended origin story... which for her, is better left a bit vague. They were never doing to do a cold war-based story justice.

MCU Spider-Man. Holland's version is annoying with his desperation to be acknowledged by Stark and lacked any of the psychological burdens Parker typically carried on his shoulders in the comics, and in live action in the great Raimi Spider-Man films (even III was worth the Parker parts alone). I'll still go with Avengers Ultron first, but I saw the first MCU Spider-Man movie and didn't like it, either. I didn't even bother with the others after that.

Just posted on Youtube under a scathing review of the "CAPTAIN MARVEL" movie:
A few bits I'm sure most movie fans will NEVER have any idea of:
A Kree spy coming to Earth was a storyline concocted by JACK KIRBY. Unfortunately, he never got to work on it. His boss passed it on to GENE COLAN. After only 1 episode, Roy Thomas came on and added The Skrulls to the mix. Professor Lawson was an evil foreign spy who actually got killed by accident in the 1st episode, and "Captain Mar-Vell", the Kree spy who physically resembled him, spent the next dozen or so episodes impersonating him. Carol Danvers (Thomas named her in tribute to SUPERGIRL's secret identity Linda Danvers), as drawn by Colan, was a dead ringer for RAQUEL WELCH. Which makes me wish the original story (which took 18 chapters to unfold) had been adapted to film in the late 60s-early 70s. Because apart from being the most gorgeous woman in films in the late 60s, she was 10 times better an actress than anybody working there these days. Oh well!
As it happens, the only writers who really knew what the HELL they were doing on the serial, were Arnold Drake (creator of DOOM PATROL and DEADMAN), who was fired by "ye editor", who kept calling Drake a "Communist" for once trying to get healthcare for free-lancers-- and Archie Goodwin, who took a complete SHAMBLES and by sheer force of talent, MADE it make sense-- before being kicked off after only ONE episode-- because former GREEN LANTERN artist Gil Kane said he really wanted to work on the thing. But the 5 episodes Kane did were WORSE-written than anything that came before he got there. GOD ALMIGHTY............... (totally-insane-- but true!)

A quick correction: Roy Thomas did not have Supergirl in mind when he named Carol Danvers. When I asked him about it while tabling with him at a convention, Roy told me that if he'd remembered Supergirl's Linda Danvers identity at the time, he would've given Carol another surname. *Rob Allen was there, too. He can back me up.)

The worst Marvel movies are Captain Marvel , Ant-man and Black Panther. Dr. Strange is 4th. I enjoyed all the Avengers movies and AAO had the great scene where everyone tries to lift the hammer. The Iron Man movies were good but they got worse with evert part. I wasn't okay with the PTSD aspect of Iron Man 3. GOTG 1 was one of may favorite Marvel Movies , the second one was crappy. I like all 3 Thor movies. Captain America Winter soldier was the best of his films and Civil War left a bad taste in my mouth. I guess it was supposed to.
Cap and WS beating Iron man was inane.

I like all 3 Thor movies. Captain America Winter soldier was the best of his films and Civil War left a bad taste in my mouth. I guess it was supposed to. Cap and WS beating Iron man was inane. I tend to agree on Captain Marvel not being particularly good; but, I really enjoy the Ant-Man films. They make a refreshing change to things and I enjoyed the caper aspects of the first and the addition of the humor. The villain was weak; but, I didn't care. Black Panther I thought was a terrific performance for Boseman and I liked the elements drawn from panther's Rage; but, did feel that the film got a bit disjointed. However, I think the film transcends the story in that it helps bring of vision of what Africa could be to life and celebrates so many cultures on the continent that it is something else entirely; something that the comics never achieved. I would have loved to have seen more of Boseman in the role and see them dive more into some real world issues that Wakanda contrasted, though that is asking a lot of Marvel Studios. Dr Strange was okay, but I was never invested in the comics, beyond the visuals, so that is about on par with the inspiration. The Avengers films seemed rather mindless displays of action, until Infinity War & Endgame finally added some depth to the conflict. Age of Ultron should have, but the CGI fights and somewhat disjointed second act undercut that, for my viewing experience. Agree on Iron Man. Thor, I mostly liked the first; but, felt the third act was rushed, to get to Avengers (same with Captain America, though more so). The second had nice stuff with Loki, but served Thor poorly and had a weak villain. Love Ragnarok; fun as hell, nice heroic moments, nice emotional moments. However, if you ask me what the worst Marvel film is, I would have to answer Captain America 1990, by far. Even the Punisher was better than that and it was pretty much just a generic action film that just happened to have a guy some people called the Punisher, for no good reason. Even Howard the Duck had more interesting moments than Pyun's mess and the Republic Serial and the reb brown tv pilots were more exciting. Not MCU; but, I get tired of Marvel this and Marvel that, acting like the crappier early attempts at realizing those characters don't exist. Same thing, in reverse, for DC characters, like the Donner Superman doesn't count, just because Snyder made a hash of it. Leaving that aside, I do find that the films are rather like my reading experiences with many of the comics, in different eras: some are really good, some are fine while you are reading/watching them, but you can't remember details after they are done. Visuals over characterization, at times, self-indulgent banter substituting for character development. That's not all of the films, just some of the films or particular weaknesses in some. In general, I will take the worst of the current crop over the previous generation of attempts. Funny enough, the more time that passes, the less I feel that way about the Batman films. The Adam West film grows in stature while the Nolan stuff decreases. Schumacher's were timelessly bad. Mostly love the first Burton film, hate the second, though i like Keaton and Pfeiffer, who do the best they can with what they have. That film is just Tim Burton playing "eccentric artiste", like the students I saw in my college days, who dressed in black and and played at being tortured, but couldn't draw a line or express an idea.

I thought all of the Avenger films were great The first one is my favorite with a great villain/conflict. AAO added a lot of world building and forshadowed all the events to come. Of course the last 2 were blockbusters and they did a nice job of juggling a potentially unwieldy cast. They must have had over 20 major personalities to devote time to and they made it work.
I don't see how they can have great Avengers movies without RDJ going forward. His death closed the chapter for me.

Black Panther was okay, but I remember it being the point at which I realized I was getting burned out on this stuff.
The MCU films I felt were worth owning:
Ant-Man The Avengers Captain America Guardians of the Galaxy Hulk Incredible Hulk Iron Man 1-3 Thor 1-2

I bought a boxed set of the entire 23-movie Infinity Saga on Blu-Ray with some of my royalty money a couple of months ago (along with a new computer system, a new wardrobe, and a few new appliances). Money well spent, as far as I'm concerned.

I've only watched less than half of them, I think, and I fell asleep during Iron Man 2, so that is by default my least favorite. Ant-Man's my favorite, just for the joy of seeing one of my favorite minor league characters (well, his protégé, anyway!) headlining a major motion picture. I am tempted by the upcoming Spider-Man, though I'm a little ticked that the MCU once again seems to be motivated by beating the DC films to the punch...

I've only seen a handful: the two Captain Americas (liked the first very much); each of the Avengers (liked the first, didn't care for the Ultron chapter, and did my due diligence watching the other two, which subsisted on the power of several evocative -- for comics fans anyway -- scenes rather than the entire two-part saga); Panther (liked it) and the first Guardians (okay because it didn't take itself seriously).
The only one I've watched more than once is the first Cap. Saw it once in the movies and have seen most of the rest again in separate viewings when I've come across it on TV.
Started but chose not to finish Ant-Man; Dr. Strange; the Iron Mans (Men?); and the first Thor. Felt as f I'd been there and done those. But the worst? Wasn't it this one?

I would have to vote Iron Man 3 and most of 2 as the worst, which surprised me because of how much I like RDJ's Stark. Civil War was poor, a bunch of friends having a punch-up is just a BBQ not a freaking war. Shang-Chi was pointless, without finding a way of channeling the work Doug Moench put into the philosophical journey of the character, battling the machinations of his father. They did what every writer since has done, missed the key to what made a kung fu comic work. Sure they made a funky kung fu film with shiny splody stuff, but not the character I used to read. GOTG2 suffered from the same thing wonder woman did. I think they were forced to write a movie that matched SFX/CGI that had been in development for years. Same with a bunch of Spider-Man movies, and most of the X-Stuff too. Winter Soldier is the coolest for me, the Thanos movies are pretty cool, and Thor 3 is awesome cos Taita is a Kiwi, and thats how we roll

Cap and WS beating Iron man was inane. Inanity defined was Iron Man even standing up to Thor (as both were established in the MCU up to that time) for more than a second. In the case of Captain America & Bucky beating Iron Man, it made perfect sense: both are living, super-powered weapons, trained in numerous fighting forms and strategies. Stark was just a guy in a suit without a tactical thought in his background, and if any of his weapons were damaged, he was that much closer to being a very vulnerable man.
