Yikes.
That doesn't look great. Hopefully it will all work better in context.

There isn't enough there for me to go either way on it.
My biggest fear was that to truly do it right, Disney was going to have to allow it to be brutal and "real", almost like the Punisher on Netflix, and I don't think they have the stomach or will to go there. Marc Spector is not a good person and he is insane. He ENJOYS the pain he causes bad guys when he's Moon Knight, and that is hard to sanitize and still do well so that it can sit next to Cinderella and Buzz Lightyear on D+.

Is the English accent new for the show or something I missed in the comics?

Probably as an easy way to differ whether it's Grant, Spector or Lockley in the driving seat.

Trailer looked pretty good to me, and definitely sold me on the darker tone.

So the costume is supernatural now, unless that was just depicting a vision of some sort.
I dunno, could be good. I'd probably check it out if I had Disney.
Hard to believe that's the guy from Ex Machina. When I heard that he was in the role I couldn't picture it.

I'll probably end up watching it, but there was nothing in that trailer that excited me.

0 for 2, for Doug Moench!
Kind of hard to tell if anything of the original concept will make it into this or not.
Any more, I am actually hoping they won't ever use Dominic Fortune, though I'd love a Fortune film, done in the period, if it was in keeping with Chaykin's stories. Somehow, I doubt that would be the case, if he turned up.
I can't tell really what to think about it, from that. I'll have to sample the first episode and see how it goes. Most of the vibe of the trailer isn't quite my cup of tea; but, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. Cobra Kai sounded unlikely, at first and became my favorite show, with the first episode.

Sienkewicz has been gushing about this saying it perfectly captures the spirit of his run and he is excited for this to come out. Make of it what you will, but alt lteast one comic creator involved disagrees with all the fans who haven't seen anything but a trailer saying it missed the mark capturing the spirit of he work they themselves created.

So perhaps it should be less don't trust "creators opinions" and more "follow the money".

So perhaps it should be less don't trust "creators opinions" and more "follow the money". Since there is no box office to measure on a Disney Plus show, and Sienkewicz's money for it is already in the bank no matter how it does, it's a different situation than say the Mignola situation where the box office results impacted what he made off of the film. Yes creators have stakes in the movies or tv shows, but they also have stakes in their print products, especially in collected editions where they still get royalty checks off them, but Sienkiewicz has been pretty forthright when evaluating some of his older work in collected editions saying some of it wasn't his best stuff, which by your logic he shouldn't do since he has a financial stake in more people buying those collected editions of older work. Sure, financial stake is going to influence perspectives or evaluations of new adaptations of old material, but no more or less than fan hubris, obstinance, and neophobia which cause many fan opinions to be set in stone before they ever view the trailer, show, movie, or whatever adaptation in question. That bias makes fan opinions in many, many cases much more untrustworthy than that of a creator who has seen more of the product and has a bias, because at least their bias is transparent and on the table, so can be take into account when considering their opinion. -M

I'm a huge MK fan and this looks pretty decent. We'd watch it regardless in my house because my daughters are into all things Marvel, so the fact that it looks a little deeper and more "adult" than a lot of superhero fare (looking sideways at you, DC shows on CW) certainly helps get me a bit more interested.
