I love dogs, and have always enjoyed the likes of Krypto and Ace. I'm going to throw out a crazy one...if the Hulk had a "gamma hound" as a companion. Ok, it might seem a little silly, this green gamma ray infused Hulk pup. But besides the spectacle of it, Hulk always feels so lonely and outcast, and what better companion than man's best friend but in an incarnation that can hang with him. I like this one. Normal dog until Bruce gets upset, then the dog gets upset also, and both change simultaneously. How about The Question? He could have a dog named "?". Then when people ask how to say the dog's name, he'd say, "Good question." Fantastic idea.

These are the only two issues of Superboy I have. The only super-team I like better than the Space Canine Patrol Agents is the Legion of Super-Pets.
Cei-U! Why, yes, I am weird!

Amanda Conner's Supergirl/Krypto variant covers are adorable... they ran from issue 21-25, 29-31 of the 2016 series, these 2 are my favorite of the 5, but they are all adorable. -M

The Supergirl figure from the Darwyn Cooke design line comes with a Krypto figure (and a supercat to boot) and they both feature prominently in Darwyn's Supergirl variant from the Darwyn variant month DC did... I can't necessarily speak to the quality of the stories in these issues, but those covers bring a smile to my face every time I see them regardless of what's on the interior pages. -M

I think part of my love of Krypto (aside from just being a dog person) is that the first Superman comic I ever got as a kid featured Krypto... and 6 year old me fell hard for that dog! -M

MRPs_Missives Be interesting to know sales figures for comics featuring Krypto on the cover. Most people do like dogs, and I imagine some might have been swayed by a cover featuring him.

Love the Super-Pets, too, but as an inveterate dog lover, the SCPA wins by a nose. And your appreciation of both groups proves that you are not weird.

I have to mention Evan Dorkin and Jill Thompson's Beasts of Burden a comic book about a group of dogs (and a cat).

One of the best, if heart-rending, graphic novels you'll ever read is about Laika, the first living creature to go into space. She was such a good dog. Steel yourselves, dog-lovers, if you decide to read it.

Speaking of space dogs (though fictional ones this time) Dalgoda is one of the better 80s indy offerings... -M
