What should I be reading from Marvel right now? The only thing I'm reading current is from DC. I'm getting ready for Darkseid War because I love Jason Fabok's work, I'm reading Wonder Woman because of David Finch (although it seems his work has suffered in recent times), and I'm catching up on Scott Snyder's Batman run. Haven't read anything Marvel in forever. At least current Marvel. I'm thinking about getting on the New Avengers that will be released on Free Comic Book day. Anything else at Marvel that is getting a lot of buzz? Daredevil (Mark Waid/Chris Samnee) Hawkeye (the Fraction/Aja et al series that's just about to finish up any minute now) She -Hulk (current volume just finished, available in two tpbs) Moon Knight (the Warren Ellis tpb) Silver Surfer (Dan Slott/Mike Allred having FUN with the Marvel Universe's mopiest character!) Miles Morales Ultimate Spider-Man whatever the freakin' book's called this year If you're into huge epic plotlines, Hickman's Avengers/New Avengers is about to wrap up leading into Secret Wars Don't forget Ms. Marvel, Captain Marvel and Spider-Man 2099 (plus Miracle Man and their Star Wars stuff...)

I figured I'd just stick to listing comics that I've actually read.
And hell yeah, Miracleman!

Well the Nightworld: Midnight Sonata trade arrived in my mailbox today so I will probably give that a read tonight or tomorrow. First "new" comic purchase of the year outside of Heavy Metal.

It wasn't close to Warren Ellis' quality and I didn't dislike Wood's issues, but it was a decent beginning. Never read much of Bunn's work (not enough at least to spell his name correctly) apart from one issue of Immortal Weapons (which only was noticeable for Dan Brereton's art) and Fearless Defenders (which was rather mediocre), but I'm giving him a shot on this. Sixth Gun and Helheim from Oni by Bunn are very very good. His mainstream superhero stuff has paled in comparison to me. Solid and serviceable sure, but not spectacular. For me, Fearless Defenders was his best hero stuff but still paled to his indy stuff. -M I've been reading Sixth Gun on Comixology almost since its debut. It's a very good series that has three issues left before it ends at #50. I'm a big fan of Brian Hurtt's art style, too.

I like the 1st couple Sixth Gun trades, (which I got out of the library), but I wasn't tempted to get more.
Some DC this month:
LOVED Batman and Robin... super fun issue, and I'm glad they're not sticking with Super-Damian
Batgirl was mostly set up for a new post-convergence status quo, which seems to be including a new Oracle.. could be good.
Green Lantern Corps and New Guardians were both kinda a mess.. I don't read either regularly, just checking in to see what's going on.

I've been considering that big Sixth Gun hardcover just because it seems like a fantastic value. Still have it bookmarked

The first half of the run was stronger, for sure. It seems like Bunn introduced ton of great concepts only to have to start speeding up the story given their mandated fifty issue limit. Then again, they are fleshing out the supporting characters with several mini-series.

I'll say any Pak Superman stuff, Smallville season 11, the current Silver Surfer, Daredevil, S.H.I.E.L.D., and Ms. Marvel, the recently concluded Hawkeye and She-Hulk, Saga, Sex Criminals, Locke&Key, Doctor Who books, Manhattan Projects, Walking Dead, Miracle Man and Multiversity are the books I'm most enjoying now. I'll be getting the first Squirrel Girl trade when it comes out to check that out.

It's an odd time to give recommendations for Marvel and DC, as we don't really know what books will even be around post SecretConvergenceWar, let alone who the creators behind them will be.

I've never read Fatale even though I'm a big fan of Brubaker's Criminal. Seeing it mentioned alongside Saga and Rat Queens has me wondering if I should check it out now. EDIT: Crap did I respond to a post on the first page again??
