Number Two - Batman and Robin - DC Comics Dynamic DuoI will be focusing on the various Batmen from 1943 to Present Day in generalization of who is the best one and why. I will be also be focusing on Adam West's Batman and sharing some information about Adam West when I met him four times from 1980 to 1999. I'll also be sharing some of his main equipment that been used in the movie and the series itself. I won't be touching much of Robin, the Boy Wonder but I will try my best to include him because I'm more focusing on Batman than Robin but I will be centering on one Robin only and that's Burt Ward of whom that I met two times in the 80's. I will be sharing my thoughts on the Fearsome Foresome - The Joker, The Riddler, The Penguin, and the Catwoman from the Adam West's Series and be sharing my thoughts on meeting them as well. Anyway, I also will be sharing my Favorite Batman Story of All-Time and you will be surprised of my selection. I also will be sharing my thoughts of the greatest Villain of All-Time and you will be shocked of my own personal selection as well because this villain is so mind blowing that I just find him very fascinating character indeed. Of course other surprises as well. It's all starts tomorrow ...

My Bad, I will be sharing Batman and Robin as Number Two together and focusing more on Batman than Robin. I did the same thing with Black Canary and Black Widow who shared at Number 5 together. That's why there are no Number 3 and Number 6 on my countdown!

Starting Tomorrow, I will go through all the Actors that played Batman from 1943 to 2016 and I will offer my opinion of each and everyone of them - Minus Adam West of who I will save for the last. So, in preparation of this - I found a You Tube Video that has an excellent recap of all the Batman that appeared in movie serials, television, and movies from 1943.
Here the You Tube
There were SEVEN Batmen and I hope to have them covered starting tomorrow and ending on Tuesday and I'm planning on getting the whole nine yards finished by Saturday and with Thanksgiving nearing us ... don't be surprised if I get it done by next week at the latest. I'm planning on using Wikipedia more this time around and I will make sure that I'm coping from that source as well.
It will be a fun ride for all of us!

Lewis Wilson - 1943 BatmanIn this movie serial both Batman and Robin were acting out as Secret Government Agents to counter the spy ring (of sort) of one Dr. Daka who played by J. Carrol Naish. I did not expect this to happen but it did and this threw me a curve ball and I started thinking that this movie serial came out in 1943 during the smack middle of World War Two and that's why they made the Dynamic Duo as Government Agents in this 15 Chapter installment. His costume looks real good in the serial. It was fairly good at the time and I like the action of it and I just watched it a year ago and I remember some of it that wasn't all that great but it was more like a series of plots and subplots that both Batman and Dr. Daka keeps their toes preoccupied and that's why it's keeps everyone that watches this series on their toes. I was a little disappointed in Shirley Patterson who played Bruce's love interest and she wasn't a solid actress at the time that this movie serial was made but, she did has her moments at the end and redeemed herself for doing that the first 8 chapters she wasn't much a factor but the final 5 she did came through and did a good job at the end. The movie serial according to Wikipedia was based on Detective Comics #27 that came out in May 1939. It was successful serial and the next one came out in 1949. Robert Lowery - 1949 BatmanFirst of all, I prefer the costume in the 1943 Version than this silly thing because I hated the Bat Insignia on his chest and the idiotic belt that hardly resembled Batman's utility belt. This is a fairly routine movie serial that's packed a wallop of Batman battling the Wizard who played by Leonard Penn that was quite good and kept me on my toes most of this serial. I felt that this was marginally better than the movie serial in 1943 and the reason why that I was surprised to see Lyle Talbot who played Lex Luthor in this serial as Commissioner Jim Gordon of which the movie serial came up with a clever way of contacting Batman. Lyle Talbot was excellent in this role. A portable Bat-Signal. Another pleasant surprise was Jane Adams as Vickie Vale she was excellent and very charming in this movie serial. The plot is rather simple as Wikipedia shared this to me. What's made this movie serial very challenging to Vickie is that she had a brother who was a henchman played by George Offerman Jr (uncredited role) that I learned watching this serial. That's alone made this serial even more better because Vickie wanted to be more involved that forces Batman being played by Robert Lowery to take action and that makes it even worst as the movie serial progresses. The Dynamic Duo face off against the Wizard, a hooded villain with an electrical device which controls cars and a desire to set challenges for the Dynamic Duo, whose identity remains a mystery throughout until the end.On a Final NoteIn the 1949 Movie Serial Johnny Duncan played Robin and Douglas Croft played Robin. Who was better - Johnny Duncan who had a better role and more active - Douglas Croft was excellent in the fighting scenes but didn't appeared to be more like an actor that spoke. Johnny in the 1949 Series was a bit more animated as Robin but in the 1943 Serial - Lewis Wilson over-shadowed everything and basically the spotlight was on him and J. Carrol Naish who played Dr. Daka was battling at the end and Batman saved the day. Johnny Duncan was better than Douglas Croft - that's my own opinion.

Nice thoughts on Wonder Woman. Jane Russell as a golden age Wonder Woman is perfect! Raquel Welch would have made a great 1960s Wonder Woman and Dorothy Malone as Hippolyta is awesome. While not very popular, the Cathy Lee Crosby Wonder Woman has a charm of its own. I remember watching it on Saturday afternoons when the local stations used to run movies. I was surprised as I was expecting Lynda Carter, haha! Another fun fact about Anitra Ford-- She was one of the original Barker Beauties along with Janice Pennington on The Price is Right. She was on from 1972-1976 and when she left, her replacement was Dian Parkinson. Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman--it was as if Wonder Woman stepped straight out of the comic books and onto the tv screen. I do like Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman (not a fan of the sword and shield though, but I guess that is from the current direction of the WW comic book).

Micheal Keaton, Val Kilmer, and George Clooney - Three Batmen that I have frustrations with ...Micheal Keaton as Batman in Two MoviesVal Kilmer as Batman and Chris O'Donnell as RobinAlicia Silverstone as Batgirl, George Clooney as Batman, and Chris O'Donnell as RobinIn the first Batman Movie it was Jack Nicholson stole the show as the Joker and like everyone here knows that the Joker died at the end of the movie in a climax fashion that killed a chance for him to return as the Joker. The 2nd Movie, I did not care for Catwoman at all and the Penguin played by Danny DeVito was the real star of this movie and he died a horrible death too. Bearing with in mind, I wanted both Nicholson and DeVito back but Hollywood killed them at the end and having said that my love of Batman with Micheal Keaton is squarely on the 1st movie and not the 2nd movie because Michelle Pfeiffer was not my choice for Catwoman and I just can't watch her at all because of her hideous costume that she has on. Then, after the 1st and 2nd Movies of Batman finished then they had Val Kilmer as Batman and having watched that movie he was a dork as Bruce Wayne and great as Batman because he was more athletic than Keaton. But, the real star of this movie was Two Face 1st and then the Riddler 2nd. I tend to favor more to Tommy Lee Jones as Two Face than Jim Carrey as the Riddler and yet the costume of the Riddler at the end of this movie was a joke and it's was marred by imperfections throughout this movie. I find Val Kilmer not suited to play Bruce Wayne and when he in his Batman's role I was surprised to see how well he handled it. The first three - the main female star were Kim Basinger and Nicole Kidman - who of the two that I liked. To me, both of them were good and I have to choose one ... I slightly favored Basinger over Kidman and yet Pfeiffer had a dual role being Bruce's girlfriend and villain at the same time that made me even more frustrated because I just can't decide which one is best. Honest. So, far ... I have a terrible time who is the best Batman so far. Honest, why because I want to repeat something to all of you here and if I had Bruce Wayne as Micheal Keaton and Val Kilmer as Batman that's would be my best bet to Batman. Honest. Are you still with me? Then came along the George Clooney Farce ... I just can't stand George Clooney as Batman because I just can't stand Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze and the moron that played Bane is the biggest joke of them all. Remember the Batman Credit Card Clip ... I was laughing my head off when I saw that Credit Card! ... One more thing, I wanted to mentioned here is that silly dance routine that Mr. Freeze did in that movie and that's was embarrassment on the part of Arnold Schwarzenegger that did that and I just can't believe that I paid my $$$ to watch this clip. The costumes were so hideous and after watching that movie - I vowed to never, ever see it again until one of my best friend who loves George Clooney forces me to watch this garbage one more time and I just could stomach seeing it again - so I watched it once in the theaters and once on my friend's television. The only thing good about this movie is Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy and she was the real star of this dismal movie back in 1997. So, I don't any favorites at all and the only movie that I would mind watching again is the first one that starred Jack Nicholson as the Joker because that movie is best you can get. Sorry Everyone that I just have a hard time watching these four movies that I find more flaws than good.

Christian Bale - Dark Knight Trilogy Christian Bale as BatmanFrom Wikipedia
The Dark Knight Trilogy is a British-American superhero film trilogy based on the DC Comics character Batman. The trilogy consists of Batman Begins (2005), The Dark Knight (2008) and The Dark Knight Rises (2012), directed by Christopher Nolan.Out of the three films - I prefer Batman Begins despite seeing his house burned down and that scene disturb me so much it's bothers me a lot and I just can't stomach watching it again after not seeing it a few years. I did managed to watch it on television in 2007 and that's was the last time I've seen it. The Dark Knight that has Heath Ledger as the Joker and that was his final role before his untimely death and I did not care for his makeup as the Joker and that's bothers me a lot as well and I just had a hard time watching it again in 2011 with a bunch of friends from my Comic Book Store that I go to every single Friday. The next and final movie - The Dark Knight Rises and the problem with this film is my dislike of Tom Hardy as Bale and that's make me sick in my stomach of the awful job of putting him together. With this all this in mind - the only reason that I watch these films is Christian Bale as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Micheal Caine as Alfred, and Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox. Is these three actors that made the series bearable for me to watch and I almost places Gary Oldman for Commissioner Gordon but his voice did not command so well on the screen and I had a hard time watching him perform at all. In one scene that really makes me ill is the money burning scene that they did when Heath Ledger as the Joker and that alone bothers me a lot and despite my friends continual discussion with me - I felt that it was terrible waste and doesn't fit with my understanding of the Joker. I questioned many of Christopher Nolan's directions of these three films and having said that - I have my reservations of the villain casting department and the hideous costumes that they all wore on these films. Bane was the worst of the worst and Catwoman in the last film was not my cup of tea either. But, knowing all this and my understanding of Christian Bale and his role as Batman and Bruce Wayne was very well executed and he did a great job portraying him that I have to let go all the flaws that I just pointed out and leave my enjoyment of the acting of Caine, Freeman, and Bale to it's finest. One thing for sure that Micheal Caine and Christian Bale had great chemistry together and that alone made the film bearable to see. Add Morgan Freeman as Mr. Fox you got yourself a triple treat for all Batman Fans out there and I felt that I wished the villains had better costumes, better casting, and the makeup on Heath Ledger as the Joker was better and more uniformed - I would had enjoyed this trilogy more and more. The one villain that I really like and the only one that I really like is Cillian Murphy as the Scarecrow and he did a masterful job of acting and that was the highlights in Batman Begins. I did not care for Liam Neeson as Ra's al Ghul / Henri Ducard at all because he is one of my least favorite actor of all time because his voice doesn't ring true for me and his speech wasn't all that good on the big screen and that alone did not do so well and that's why I'm always confused why he burned down Wayne Manor? Knowing all this ... Christian Bale grade as Batman despite all these flaws remains the best of the best Batman in history of DC Comics and I can safely give him a grade of ... drum roll please ... A solid A

They both look like good picks, though I didn't think I'd like Michelle Pfeiffer and she did very well as did Anne Hathaway.

Slight tangent here; Sean Young has always wanted to play Catwoman and it's a shame that she never got to because she really is kind of perfect for it. Do you think Batman Returns would be better with Sean Young instead of Michelle Pfeiffer? Sean Young in No Way Out: I think Camilla Belle would be a great choice for the role right now, better than Anne Hathaway? Sean Young would had been a better choice than Michelle Pfeiffer - Hands Down and I do agree of your choice of Camilla Belle as Catwoman over Anne Hathaway. I've never, ever really cared for Anne at all. Believe me, I really wanted Sean Young real bad as Catwoman and if they had a better costume and all it would made Batman Returns more enjoyable to watch..

Best Batman Story Batman, Year One by Frank Miller and Company20 Odd Years Ago, something like that and I went to my Local Comic Bookstore and trying to find a couple of books to buy and take home and saw this book being displayed as a feature point and one of my buddies that I know at the time said to me - it's a great book and I think you will like it. So, I looked at it and I find the artwork very visually orientated and nicely formatted and I just loved the way David Mazzucchelli drew Batman below. It was done in style and perfection and his artwork was impeccable and I couldn't keep my eyes off it. With that alone and Frank Miller's writing it's really focus on the early days of Batman and how he managed to earn the trust of one young James Gordon in the due process and trying to assist him of the numerous corruption from his boss Commissioner Loeb who wanted have him and his family harmed including his child that made him more focus than ever before. His focus was very intense and very forceful and with the help of Batman he succeeded and earned his trust of the Caped Crusader and that's the beauty of Frank Miller's writings. He managed to get the evidence to Dent and that lead to Loeb's resignation as Commissioner of Gotham City Police. The plot is rather simple and easy to understand; but it was one tale after another and then everything came out all right at the end of where James Gordon got promoted to Captain and then with the trust that he gain from Batman of whom he awaits so he can tell him that a new fiend in town that's plotting to poison the reservoir - The Joker! Best Villain - Ra Al GhulTo me, I consider him to be the most dangerous villain of all time and one of the most challenging one for Batman to overcome his League of Assassins and with his beautiful daughter Talia pictured below complicates things to the highest order. What's makes it very difficult that both of them knows who Batman is and that's why it is so difficult for the Caped Crusader to deal with and combine with the vast resources that this villain has it's makes the life of Batman even more difficult to imagine and his quest for world domination doesn't make Batman job even easy at all. I consider this villain one of the craftiest, diabolical, cunning, and very resourceful indeed. I haven't been reading much of him lately and I'm planning on reading some of his stories later on this week and haven't decided which one I want to read. For the record - I didn't care for Ken Watanabe's performance as this villain in Batman Begins and it was my fault in my previous post that I gave the credit to Liam Neeson instead. I seen Ken in previous works and I did not care for voice at all and he doesn't sound right to me as this villain and being deaf and hard of hearing that I felt he wasn't the man for the part of Ra al Ghul.

Adam West BatmanHe always will be my Number One Batman because he brought the Caped Crusader to life on Television in the Sixties and I consider it one of my Top Ten Television Shows that I watch in my lifetime and I feel that he was perfect for that role and I felt that his costume was spot on and more in sync with the Comic Books in the Sixties alone. He mannerisms, action, and style was excellent and did a great job delivering the humor that's needed for this show and I just fell in love the camp atmosphere that the Producers brought with it. I have talked to him on couple occasions and he was very kind and candid with me and I also met him briefly for a couple of other times and he had a big crowd and I wanted touch with him for a short while. I do have his autograph on a black and white glossy of him in his Batman Outfit. He was the best of the best! Burt Ward RobinHe brought great joy and enthusiasm and his trademark "Holy" statements that chuckles me every time he said those terms on the program itself. His costume is unbelievably lifelike and that's really sells the show here. I think that he did a great job and always be called Robin, The Boy Wonder. I met him twice - once with Adam West and once by himself and got his autograph when he and Adam were together. He and Adam had great chemistry together. He was friendly, fun to be with, and have a smile on his face with his fans. One of my favorite picture of the Dynamic Duo that I found in the Internet the other day and the colors really POP! Here a picture of Adam West and Burt Ward standing in the Study of Wayne Manor with the Bat-Poles opening up with their namesakes on them. This is a cool photo of them.

Alan Napier as Alfred and Madge Blake as Aunt CooperBoth of these veteran actor/actress round out the rest of the Wayne Manor of where Alfred served as the Butler and Aunt Cooper played Dick's Aunt to give Wayne Manor a female presence to balance things up. I adore Alfred because he was faithful to Bruce Wayne and Batman's needs and serve as a protector of his own secret identity so that he can cover for him in case Aunt Harriet starts asking questions. I felt that these actors are incredible and never ever complained about working at a fast pace and they always deliver their lines with professional pride and dignity. Alfred had a clever way of saying that Bruce is needed at the phone and one incident of where the Joker was ransacking the art gallery with colorful paints and he called Wayne Manor and Aunt Harriet came to the phone and told her that a great painting for sale entitled "The Laughing Man" and this his way of informing Aunt Harriet via Bruce that the Joker was on board destroying dozens of paintings and immediately ran to the rescue and the rest was history. He was a real trooper at that and did it with amazing gusto and creativity to make it work for that scene. Madge Blake was innocent and doesn't suspect a thing that she's actually living with the Dynamic Duo all the time and having said that one of my favorite scenes of which it was kind of cute in a way of which Dynamic Duo paid a visit to Wayne Manor and kissed Aunt Harriet on the cheeks for a surprise Birthday Gift to her. That's made her day and that's why this show remains a favorite of mine. Stafford Repp as Chief O'Hara and Neil Hamilton as Commissioner Gordon These two actors are a joy to watch and my personal favorite is Neil Hamilton and one of the great things about him that he puts Batman on the pedestal of his needs for the Caped Crusader. One of great things about this show is that when he said these immortal words "We need him now!" one of my most stirring words of his desire to have the Caped Crusader help. In another show, of him describing Batman in a shape and the shadow of a huge bat to strike terror to criminals is another example of his admiration of Batman. I can go on and on about him but you have to realize that he was putting Batman into another level of a man that's almost God-Like in perspective and that's made the show corny as it is. Chief O'Hara is basically a sidekick for Commissioner Gordon and having said that I felt that he was more in a comic role than a serious role and I have a hard time which one is more dominant than another. He was amazing as an actor and he was great in that role. Neil became great friend with Adam and Burt grew fond of both Stafford and Neil. Anyway, these veteran actors and along with one actress made the show great and that's why they always rings true of their loyalty and respect from another and according to Adam West that he told me that these four actors are the best in their roles and that's made the show an instant hit and sadly this show only ran for three seasons. Sorry, everyone that I did not cover Yvonne Craig because I felt that the 3rd season was a joke.
