I thought the tesseract was what they called the cosmic cube. If I recall correctly, first it was the Cosmic Cube in the Captain America: The First Avenger, then it was in Loki's scepter. It was one of the Infinity Stones that bounced around a lot.

Loki's scepter contained the Mind Stone and was gifted to him by Thanos. After Loki was defeated Hydra took it and experimented on people, none of which survived until Wanda and Pietro. SHIELD takes the scepter from Strucker's vault and after that it's used to activate The Vision. Of course the Mind Stone was retrieved by Thanos later when Vision was killed the first time.
The Tesseract cube contained the Space Stone it opened portals. Johann Schmidt took it from that cult that worshipped the Norse gods. Howard Stark retrieved it at the end of First Avenger and SHIELD had it until the events of Captain Marvel but got it back until Thor takes it to Asgard. Loki steals it at the end of Ragnarok. At the beginning of Infinity War Thanos crushes the cube and retrieves the Space Stone putting it in his Infinity Gauntlet and heads to Earth.

Maybe the color threw me off, because I thought the light in the scepter was blue.

So I have not had a chance to see the newest episode yet, but I just happened to be reading Avengers #233 tonight, and it bares some striking resemblances to what is currently happening in Wandavision and may offer some answers as a result. What's similar:* There is a mysterious barrier that no one is able to crack. * Vision tries to break through and nearly dies. * This causes Wanda to reflect on all the recent trauma she has endured. * Monica Rambeau is ultimately the only one able to breach the barrier. Now, there's also a ton about this issue that is nothing like Wandavision, but this marked Vision and Scarlet Witch's first time back with the Avengers after the culmination of the Vision & Scarlet Witch limited series that we know served as a partial basis for Wandavision, so it's definitely possible the show writers were looking at this story too. If so, then the big villain behind all of this just might be Annihilus .

I found the latest episode to be entertaining and it filled in a quite a bit of information, but I have to say that it's pretty crazy how the fan community has accurately predicted important elements of the show. I think almost every single reveal of the last couple of episodes was floated in various fan theories I've seen on the web.

I was thinking about it and have to wonder if the events of Westview will bring attention to Agatha and Wanda {Spoiler: Click to show} from Mordo.
His whole "Too many sorcerers in the world" line seems to line up with what we saw Agatha do in the flashback.

Many of the story elements have been taken from the 50 plus years of comic history so I guess that if you throw enough things against the wall, something has to stick.

That's true, but I feel like past adaptations made significant enough changes that it kept you guessing. Captain America: Civil War was a pretty significant departure from the comic book story. Same for Infinity War. And Infinity War/Endgame even more so -- I was honestly surprised about how and when they chose to actually use the snap and subsequent undo. The elements borrowed for Wandavision seem like they are a bit too on the nose.

I guess I'm not following close enough, what elements are you talking about that are close to the source material ?

Maybe I should have worded it differently -- it's not so much that it was that close to the source material, but that it was done in a way that was predictable. A big one was the character of Agnes being Agatha Harkness... seems like that was a surprise to nobody. Also the significance of Wanda having never been called Scarlet Witch in the MCU -- why make that point if you're not going to pay it off later?
For what it's worth, I'm not complaining. TBH, Avengers history is not really my wheelhouse (I was more of an X-Men, Spidey, and Daredevil reader), so a lot of this is new to me. But it seemed like it wasn't very hard for the fans to figure things out. Either they're really on the ball, or perhaps Marvel dropped too many breadcrumbs? *shrug*

Spoilers!!!!!!
Two if the most disappointing parts of episode 9 for me were: A.Introducing "Pietro" only to reveal he was just another human caught up in Wanda's spell B. To have the White Vision introduced in a way that was not even a little bit close to his introduction in WCA 45. It's disappointing because I was really liking the series overall.

Wow that Scarlet Witch costume reveal was glorious! I do agree with that. Though I'm still partial to my heroes having capes

I woke up early to watch. I enjoyed it, but I'm going to hold off on getting into more detail until more people have seen it. But a heads-up to everyone: there is both a mid-credits scene and an end-credits scene, so wait for both (or skip ahead to them).

Spoilers {Spoiler: Click to show} Many people online were going way beyond in guessing who would appear ( Magneto, Mephisto) . I'm glad they kept it simple. They restored Vision with all his memories and now he is white and on the loose. Wanda is a witch now and can split herself into 2 people. I enjoyed he show.
