Very interested in seeing the true Justice League film. Hopefully, it will weaken the sting of the disaster that was Wonder Woman 1984.

I just wish that Warner Bros would have had faith in the plan that Snyder was executing over multiple films. It's not everyone's cup of tea to be sure, but releasing the Snyder Cut and indeed the whole movement proves that men are still good. Warner Bros decision to have Whedon poison JL gave them the failure they deserved, while next to no one is begging for crap like Shazam to be the standard of the DCEU. Further, the forthcoming Flash( point) movie is a continuation of what Snyder introduced, so his impact will still be felt, and that's a good thing. I could not possibly disagree more. Whedon's influence is what made Justice League watchable. Snyder's bizarre insistence to make these iconic characters and symbols of heroics into frustrated teen angst grimdark nightmares is abhorrent. Shazam and the original Wonder Woman are BY FAR the best movies of the DC filmverse, and the further they can get from Snyder's vision the better. He is good at what he is good at, and his 300 was excellent, but MAN the dude just does not get superheroes. Give Snyder a self-contained elseworlds movie? Sign me up! His vision for the main movie verse is way too dark though. That said, I will watch his cut, of course, at least to see if it's any good/how big a train wreck it is. The three posters feature bleak ruins... Does the marketing department have a mean sense of humour? Ah, yes, a bleak, desolate dark and dreary joyless ruin. Hopelessness and defeat, just what people want to feel when watching Superman. And for all the talk of now DC should not be trying to make MCU style movies, they were seem to be trying to hard to jump ahead to the Justice League team without putting in time to set it up. Showing it ruined? They haven't even started it yet.

Whedon's influence is what made Justice League watchable. The film failed because Whedon attempted to MCU-ize the concept, deviating from what was originally written and intended for the film. Snyder's version will set right what was supposed to be: a consistent story from Man of Steel through Justice League. "Symbols of heroics?" Batman was created as a dark character meting out violent justice. That went off the rails not long after Robin was introduced and the cookie-cutter, lifeless, silliness that ensued from the mid-Golden Age until the early Silver nearly had Batman cancelled. We all know what restored Batman to his intended characterization toward the end of the 1960s. Cyborg was a grim, self-examining character from the start of his published appearances, and so on. No one wanted to see the equivalent of the awful Super Friends cartoons in a big budget film, or the MCU by another name. Funny you should say that, because Snyder was the guiding force of the DCEU when Wonder Woman was being developed, and introduced into the series. Moreover, he co-wrote and co-produced her debut film, which is the reason it was a success, and consistent with the DCEU as it stood at that time. With Snyder not involved in Wonder Woman 1984--giving Patty Jenkins the "separation" and control she wanted, she (and Johns) created an absolute disaster--easily one of the worst sequels of a successful film ever produced. That's what a Snyder-less DC film looks like, and no one is wanting more of anything even remotely similar to the tone and execution of WW84.

Batman has been around for 80 years. It's a bit of a stretch cherry picking which versions are the "correct" ones. And this isn't a solo Batman title, it's Justice League.
Not sure why you have such a mad on for the MCU. Personally, I find my opinion of it jibes far more with the popular consensus that they are fun, enjoyable superhero escapist movies. No one accused them of being high art, and that's not what I want comic book superhero movies to be, anyway.
I mean, like what you want, of course. For me, the DCEU films I've enjoyed the most are the ones where Snyder was minimally or not at all involved. I have seen enough of his work that I am not optimistic that The JL Snyder's Cut will be anything but 4 hours of brooding, miserable depressing angst. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy Whedon's lighter touches that provided relief from what I saw as Snyder's overly self-important, dark, edgy dreck, but hopefully there will be four hours of movie for you to enjoy here.

That Cyborg animation looks terrible.

Why does it have to look so dark and dreary? I mean, I knew it would, but still. Someone turn on a light? Do something at daytime?

Maybe, occasionally, to be different for a few minutes? Variety? Surely something has to happen when the sun is up. To add a beacon of...less depressingness?
I'm not asking for bubblegum pop here, but man, I am tired of dreary, dark, depressing gritty movies about Superman.

It's not for everyone.
I'm just happy that we've almost made it to finally getting to see it.

It’s definitely pretty remarkable that WB is willing to let him release his cut. That being able to happen at all is actually really cool. As much as I poke fun at the movie, I am interested to see how different it is from the theatrical cut. From what I’ve read it will effectively be a different movie. Regardless of how good it is or isn’t, I find glimpses into behind the scenes stuff like this to be really cool on their own.

It certainly looks better than the trailers for the Whedon version, but it still doesn't look like something I'd choose to watch. Darkseid looks good. That's about it. And is that the Jared Leto Joker?

I think it looks amazing. . . I don't mind at all how "dark" it is. . I mean, they are fighting Darkseid, so I dont' mid the grim/gritty at all.
in fact the ONLY complaint I have? (and it's a minor one), is I wish that character at the end wasn't in this.
but I am convincing myself that we're seeing 90% of the performance right here in the trailer. . . likely just shows up for a moment to get beaten, before Darkseid's minions make their 1st appearance and Batman realizes he's gonna need help on that.

Didn't see the reviled first version of the film, but this doesn't look terrible. Sure, the Cyborg animations are kind of weak and it's unrelentingly dark, but it doesn't look any worse than Age of Ultron or GotG2, which are two of my least-favorite MCU films.

I wonder if Joker isn't there other than as a big reality check? That Thanos (oops I mean Darkseid) is this humanity threatening omnipotence of Godly force, intimidating and seemingly unstoppable inevitable END and Joker being the crazily "sane" individual he is, recognized the capes have to step up and bring their A-game to stop Darkseid. I know Mr. J is not going to let anyone ruin his world (of fun) and where all others may give up hope and drop to despair, Joker will put on his fanciest purple threads, pick up his walking stick and step right up to Darkseid to squirt him in the face with Joker Juice (FDA approval and patent pending) just out of defiance. I mean, who does Dorkseid think he is, coming in from Apokolips and making threats & destroying Joker's plans? Ain't nobody messing with or destroying the Bat unless it's Joker.
